Han Solo’s famous blaster from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi has sold for $550,000 at an auction in Las Vegas. The blaster was auctioned off to Ripley’s Believe It or Not.

The Associated Press is reporting that this was the highest selling item sold at the Hollywood Legends auction. This wasn’t the only Star Wars prop at this auction either.

According to Rolling Stone, Solo’s blaster was one of nearly 40 Star Wars items sold (part of a collection from the film’s art director James L. Schoppe). An imperial scout trooper blaster from Return of the Jedi went for $90,625. Along with that, an Ewok prop axe was also auctioned off for $11,250.

Other items sold at this auction was a Superman III costume and a black wool dress worn by Marilyn Monroe. The Superman III suit, worn by the great Christopher Reeve, went for $200,000 and Monroe’s dress was auctioned for $50,000. The proceeds from the latter will go to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation.

None of these items came close to the R2-D2 unit that was sold last year. This R2-D2 unit was sold for $2.76 million.

As for Star Wars movie news, which is far more confusing at the moment, Lucasfilm has denied claims that all future Star Wars spin-off films have been put on hold. Hopefully, we will finally see the long-awaited Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off movie sooner rather than later.

Solo: A Star Wars Story has been the franchise’s first dud at the box-office and follows Star Wars: The Last Jedi with a mixed fan reception.

What do you think about Solo’s famous blaster selling for over $500,000? Where are you at with the franchise right now? Let us know in the comments and be sure to follow us here at The Nerd Stash for all of your nerdy news and needs!
