A resident in Wyoming County, West Virginia has left internet users shocked after sharing a video showing yellow-colored water coming out of his faucet.
The resident was seen standing in his home while being filmed as he demonstrated the condition of his tap water. As the faucet ran, the water was visibly yellow. He then filled a bowl to further show that even after letting the water run for a while, it continued to come out discolored.
On top of the video, additional details about the situation were included. It read: “On Saturday evening, May 16, Mountain Water Watch was alerted to 2 wells in Brenton that went bad overnight. Along with discolored water, the concerns noted a gurgling and bubbling sound from deep within the wells.”
It was the man’s daughters who first noticed the issue and called him to show the water when they went to take a shower. He said he was completely shocked by how it looked. After filling another bowl with the discolored water, he expressed frustration, saying he would like someone from the government or the county to come and drink the water to understand the severity of the situation.
“That’s disgusting. That’s a brand new well, an $11,000 well that me and my grandmother had drilled here,” the resident said before adding, “Is that normal? That is not normal.” The caption accompanying the video also emphasized the broader concern surrounding the water issue, stating, “No family should have to wonder if the water coming from their faucet is safe. No child should have to bathe in water that smells like gas or stains their skin and clothes.”
Viewers Outraged Following Video of West Virginia Resident
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers were left outraged after seeing the video shared by the resident in West Virginia and the condition of the water coming from the home’s faucet. “STOP VOTING FOR BILLIONAIRES!!” one person wrote. Others directed blame toward government policies and regulations, with another commenter saying, “Thank your government for deregulation and letting these companies do what they want without consequences!”
More viewers reacting to the situation blamed government leadership and infrastructure policies for the condition of the water. “This is awful! Shame on Trump!” one person wrote, while another mockingly asked, “Are we great yet?” Someone else commented, “Comparing apples to oranges. If you didn’t pay your electric bill it’s your fault. If it was caused by a storm, mother nature,” before adding “If it’s an infrastructure problem, yes it can be blamed on trump. This water issue this man is having is absolutely on trump.”
The video shared by the resident sparked broader discussion about water quality issues in different communities and concerns over access to safe drinking water. It also led to debate online about responsibility, infrastructure, and what actions should be taken to address situations like this.
