Amazon Truck Slams Into Massachusetts Bridge After Blatantly Ignoring Warning Signs: ‘At What Point Should They Stop?’

That’s what happens when you ignore the warning signs

We all know that unexpected things can happen on the road, and while some of them are out of anyone’s control, some can be completely avoided, unless you’re a careless driver. Today, those in Lancaster, Massachusetts, faced a roadblock after an Amazon truck driver ignored the signage and drove straight under a bridge, wedging the truck. As you can imagine, this stopped traffic for a long time and likely caused significant damage because the truck somehow managed to keep going for a couple of miles after crashing under the structure.

As you can see from the image, the Amazon truck got wedged under the bridge in Massachusetts. According to sources at the scene, the driver ignored the signage, which clearly warned everyone about the bridge’s height, and this should have been enough to make the truck driver think twice before going in. However, it seems that didn’t happen, as they still drove under it, thinking the truck would fit.

Still, what makes the situation even stranger is that the truck managed to go a few miles farther after the initial collision. Usually, when these situations occur, only part of the truck remains under the bridge. Yet, as you can see, there’s at least half of the vehicle wedged under the bridge, if not more.

After seeing this, many residents from Massachusetts and across the country criticized the driver, claiming they should have known better before going under the bridge.

Judging from the comments, several Redditors were furious after seeing this, especially since it will take a long time to fix the wedged truck. And while OP mentioned a towing service was already on the way, they still think this was something irresponsible to do, and one thing that it seems truck drivers continue to do, regardless of the state.

“At what point should they stop?“

“He should have stopped right away and limited the damage, or he could have floored it and kept going. Apparently, he did neither.“

Given how the vehicle is an Amazon truck, at least according to the logo, some people decided to take a shot at Bezos’ company.

“Bad week for Bezos. First, the Blue Origin rocket blew up, now this.“

At the time of writing, it is unclear whether the towing service has resolved the issue, but those traveling on Main Street in Lancaster might want to take a detour.
