Internet users expressed outrage after a Washington high school, alleged to be Bellingham High School, reportedly hosted drag queens who danced in front of students.
A video of the event was shared on X, where the drag queens were accused by some users of dancing “provocatively” in front of students. Following the circulation of the video, some users also shared the school’s phone number, encouraging others to call and file complaints about the event.
In the video, a sign on a door reading “Welcome to Pride” was visible. During the event, several drag queens were filmed dancing while students were seated on the ground. Some online viewers described the outfits worn by certain performers as inappropriate, citing the amount of skin they showed.
Another part of the video showed another drag queen dancing. One of her dance moves involved lowering herself to the ground, making what she was wearing underneath her dress visible. Another drag performer did a split on the floor. The final performer shown in the video drew attention for her outfit, which featured feathers and decorative elements.
Viewers Outraged After Video of Drag Queens at Washington High School
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers criticized the Washington high school over the drag queens event. Some users called for those responsible to be held accountable. “I’m sure the sexually provocative outfits worn by the adult men pretending to be women violate the district’s dress code. Fire every teacher and administrator for cause who allowed and condoned this. Maybe taking away their jobs and pensions will finally get their attention,” one person wrote.
More viewers expressed outrage over the event. Another person said, “Any school that allows this sick perverted [expletive] in their schools deserves to be defunded and shut down. The tax payers need to revolt on schools using their money for this degenerate garbage.” Someone else added, “Bizarre and sick! I suspect a number of kids were uncomfortable!”
The video prompted discussion online about what types of events are considered appropriate in school settings. It also led to broader conversations about whether drag performances should be included in school-related programming.
