A mother took fun to another level at a Sea World party in San Diego, California, after viral a TikTok clip surfaced showing her dancing while her baby was strapped to her chest. In the video, the woman could be seen standing close to railings on an upper level of the venue as she danced while the Ying Yang Twins performed. At some point, she stepped on a chair, held the railings firmly, and started twerking vigorously while her baby, sucking on a pacifier, remained strapped in front of her.
The baby appeared secure, but the movement was intense. Another woman in the clip was seen staring directly in her direction, her expression suggesting shock. However, the partying woman paid the stares no attention as she lived her best life.
Social Media Users Split Over Whether Her Action Was Right or Wrong
Since the video gained traction online, opinions have been sharply divided. Many users criticized her for dancing that way while holding her baby and described the act as unacceptable. “Attention is one hell of a drug!” a user fired, suggesting she was only dancing for clout, while another gallantly stated that sometimes it’s okay to sit certain things out.
The criticism got harsher as the video spread. “She dumped her baby so she could twerk harder. Pathetic. Craziest thing is if her baby would have fallen, she would have sued the venue because the railing wasn’t safe enough.” Another commenter fired at how she appeared to stop caring about the baby’s safety in that moment.
More backlashes came in from public users. The debate quickly shifted from the dance itself to broader questions about parental responsibility in public spaces. “Some people have no limits, and it’s concerning. poor baby just being subjected to your nonsense because you couldn’t sit this moment out.” Additionally, someone labeled the woman’s style of parenting as “wild and reckless.”
However, not everyone was out to criticize the mother. A large group defended her and saw the video as a woman simply enjoying herself after having a baby. “God forbid a mom has a little fun,” a person wrote, with another supporting her right to have fun because she probably needed that release.
“Everyone is so quick to hate on a new mom having fun. The girl created life, I think she can throw a lil while at a concert. 🙁 Motherhood doesn’t stop you from having fun.” The sentiments in support of her enjoyment grew, with more people arguing that mothers deserve moments of joy, too. Some people also did not understand why others called it bad parenting, citing that the baby was obviously secured and the mother was only having fun. To them, the outrage was excessive.
The video and the responses show how people can react very differently to the same act. It also calls for a reminder about safety with children in crowded places and the need to always extend grace to mothers who are navigating parenthood in public.
