A mom who recently had a baby decided to go on a day trip with her husband to World Springs. This is a lovely hot springs center in Dallas, Texas, where you can spend your day relaxing. Unfortunately, her experience was less than relaxing when she found out she couldn’t pump breastmilk for her child while there. The situation was handled ungraciously by those in charge.
Emily (@emilylopezzzz) shared her story about a recent visit to World Springs in Texas that left her fuming. She was excited to take a trip to World Springs for their anniversary and her birthday. However, when they got there, they checked her carrier and saw she had her pump and breastmilk. She had to bring it along because she’s currently pumping for her newborn baby back at home. The teenager working there saw there was milk inside her container and told her, “You can’t bring liquid in here.” When she tried to explain that it was just breastmilk, he told her again that she couldn’t bring it inside the building.
The teenager brought the manager out to speak with Emily. The manager told her in a rude tone, “You cannot bring that in here.” Emily said she was “fully taken aback” by how they were handling this. She expected that she would be able to bring the breastmilk inside because you should be able to bring your pump anywhere you go. She asked them what she should do about that. They told her she would have to keep it in her vehicle instead of bringing her supplies inside.
Emily asked the manager what she should do when she has to pump while at World Springs. The manager stunned her when he told her, “You can’t pump in here.” Emily, baffled, laughed and asked, “What do you mean I can’t pump in here?” They told her, “You’ll have to leave and go to your car but you can’t pump on our property.” Emily tried to tell them she’s been able to bring her breast pump supplies everywhere, including the Dallas Airport. The whole situation left her speechless.
In the end, her husband walked her breastmilk back to the car, but she ended up losing it because it was so hot in the vehicle. She went into World Springs with her breast pump even though they told her she couldn’t pump in there. Emily said she pumped inside the bathroom and dumped it down the toilet. She was so upset that she was left crying because of it. She said they “ruined that part of the trip” for her. Emily adds for her audience, “It’s 2026. Am I crazy?”
Commenters immediately reacted to Emily’s video, showing full support and agreement with her. One commenter quipped, “I’d be like, so can I bring my breasts in or no?” Another commenter pointed out that they weren’t allowed to deny her. They stated, “This is ILLEGAL in Texas BTW.”
Since her posting, others have left comments about seeking legal advice for what she experienced there. Another commenter shared an excerpt directly from World Springs’ website about pumping. It states, “World Springs welcomes guests who need to pump during their visit. Guests may pump in any area of the property where they feel comfortable.” They also state that they have a specific “lactation” room area for parents who pump. As one commenter added, “I’d be calling SOMEONE and getting compensation!! Advocate for you and your baby!!!!”
Emily’s post continues to spark reactions as it goes viral on TikTok. Commenters offer her solid advice and share opinions on how they would handle this matter personally.
