A woman in Arkansas is facing backlash after she expressed frustration that a Walmart store was displaying more America-themed merchandise than Pride Month items.
The woman was with her daughter inside Walmart, and her daughter recorded her while she reacted to the limited number of Pride Month products on display. “Is that all we get?” the woman asked as she stood in front of the Pride section, which appeared to be limited to a single display area rather than a larger promotional setup.
After seeing the Pride Month display, the woman then compared it to the larger selection of America-themed merchandise, likely in preparation for the Fourth of July and the 250th anniversary celebrations. She walked over to the section filled with patriotic items and gestured toward the shelves, pointing out the noticeable difference in merchandise between the two displays.
She then walked across the store pointing at the red, white, and blue merchandise while repeatedly saying “America.” After returning once again to the Pride Month section, the woman told her family, “You know what? [Expletive] Walmart.” She then added, “Walmart used to be cool. You’d walk in and it was PRIDE.”
The woman then held up a hat with the word “Proud” written in rainbow colors as she expressed her disappointment with the size of the Pride display. “It’s a whisper beside America,” she said, referring to the difference in how much merchandise was being showcased. “I’m disappointment, Walmart,” she added at the end of the video.
Viewers Criticize Arkansas Woman Following Walmart Video
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers reacted strongly to the Arkansas woman’s video, with some accusing her of disrespecting the United States because she appeared disappointed by the size of the Pride Month display inside Walmart. “She’s welcome to move to another country anytime,” one person wrote. Another added, “She’s welcome to pack her belongings and leave the United States immediately! The more liberals like her leave this country, the better off we’ll be!”
More people continued criticizing the woman over the video, with some leaving harsh comments online. One person wrote, “She can take her ugly, skinny, old [expletive], and leave.” Another commented, “Sexuality, race and gender are not accomplishments and should not be celebrated. Our 250th anniversary is worth celebrating. See the Karen.” Another user added, “When she founds her own country she can name it Pridelandia and then she can stock the stores with as much Pride stuff as she wants, but here in the real world, we’re celebrating America’s 250th birthday not a small percentage of people’s sexual orientation.”
The video sparked a conversation about differing views on how retail spaces display seasonal merchandise, with some people arguing that national holidays, such as America’s 250th anniversary, should take priority over Pride Month displays. It also led to broader discussions suggesting that the presence of both types of merchandise matters more than the exact quantities of each, and that stores can reflect multiple celebrations simultaneously.
