A Nevada man who dresses up in his handmade fursuit decided to have a little fun when some Mormon missionaries came to his doorstep. As he says, he’s just a “seven foot tall red and blue fox trying to spice up two missionaries’ day a bit.” What resulted was a hilarious interaction, but also one with a surprisingly wholesome outcome.

Posted by TikTok Rorshach.fox, they captured the moment on his Nest camera. Two Mormon missionaries arrived on his doorstep to share their religious text with him. He caught Fox answering the door head-to-toe in his fursuit, telling them, “I cannot get this off. I’m sorry.”

Fox does get a laugh out of the two Mormons for that, but in his video, he actually explains it was entirely intentional in the caption. “I’ve been waiting for this day,” he admits, and that he’d been sitting in his suit for two hours.

The young Mormon men get right into things and ask him, “Do you have a belief in God?” Fox tells them he’s always wanted to talk to them about religion but never had a chance. Apparently, Mormons don’t come around his area to spread the word very often. He starts by telling them, “Full disclosure: I’m pretty atheistic.”

As the conversation unfolds, Fox lets the young men talk about their Mormonism and how they’ve held their beliefs their entire lives. Fox lets them speak about their religion and adds his own stories about growing up with religion. When one of them tries to read from the book, Fox stops him and says, “I’m interested in your story.”

At one point, Fox even leaves to get the Mormons some water. Unbeknownst to them, Fox gets footage of the two having a laugh at the situation. One of them states, “I want to take a picture but I can’t have this on camera.” When Fox returns, they tell him they understand he “doesn’t believe” but ask him if they can pray with them. He kindly allows them to do so, then tells them it was nice to meet them and sends them on their way.

The reaction to Fox’s TikTok video was unexpected

The comments streaming into Fox’s TikTok video were just as wholesome as his interaction with the two Mormons. Some were ex-Mormons thanking Fox for being so kind—others had a hard time accepting the conversation as reality. “This feels like Interdimensional Cable,” one commenter joked, comparing it to an episode of Rick and Morty.

“Dude the way you were so respectful and articulated your opinion so WELL oh my god this is actually so cool,” another commenter wrote, gushing over how Fox handled the visit.

One commenter, an ex-Mormon, thanked Fox for treating the two Mormons with “kindness and respect.” She shared that breaking away from Mormonism was “learning that the outside world isn’t all bad (as I was taught)…” That’s really sweet! “It’s full of kind people, such as yourself,” she added, followed by a heart.

Sometimes all it takes is a nice conversation to steer someone away from beliefs that harm others. No doubt those two Mormons will remember Fox forever.
