Lying Texas Trooper Caught Falsely Ticketing Woman for 76 MPH When She Had Proof of 65 MPH Cruise Control: ‘That Cop Is Cooked!’

Not a good look for policemen

Like in any organization, there are bad actors in police departments, and one Texas woman might have caught one of these ‘bad cops’ red-handed in some shady action. Going by Cheez-kip on Reddit, she posted to r/mildlyinfuriating, sharing how a trooper pulled her over and ticketed her for going 76 MPH. However, she claims that not only did he initially claim her car was going 73 MPH, but she was also not going anywhere near that speed.

Trooper pulled me over. I was cruise control 65. He told me I was going 73, then put down 76. SMH now I have to fight this bs in court

“I was cruise control 65,” Cheez-kip wrote, 100% confident that she was going the legal speed. She said she actually had her wheel sensors replaced last year, so there’s little chance the speed on her GPS reading would be inaccurate. To prove this, she posted a screenshot of her GPS’s screen in the comments.

Besides the photo evidence contradicting the policeman’s claim that she was speeding, Cheez-kip also added that she was pulled over at 10:43am and ticketed afterward. However, on her ticket, it read her vehicle was calibrated at 10:50am, during which she had already been at a standstill, having been pulled over by the police and all.

“I told him he was lying, then he walked away and took awhile in his vehicle (likely calibrating the gun real quick) before bringing my ticket,” Cheez-kip recalled, understandably unannoyed with how she’d been exploited. Fortunately, a commenter strongly believes her timing is very telling of how the cop handled her so-called speeding incident.

Reddit Agrees with the Woman’s Story: The Texas Trooper Ain’t Right

“That cop is cooked! He essentially negated the ticket right there!” the user exclaimed. Another Redditor chimed in, saying, “I’m 99% sure troopers get scolded for writing tickets 10 or less over, which would explain why I’ve never been pulled over passing one going that fast.”

“This is why dash cam video with timestamp and speed is nice to have,” added a third. On the other hand, there was a good number of commenters who believed OP might have been mistaken. Though her screenshot would refute any of their claims.

As to whether this Texas trooper was indeed a bad actor, Cheez-kip’s observation of how this officer behaved might be a hint. “He had someone pulled over before me. By the time I got to him, the car was gone, and he got behind me and immediately got me. Then, after leaving me, he got someone right next to me and almost caused them to ram into me, trying to pull over for him,” she wrote.

Based on her side of the story, this policeman has some things to answer for.
