A Florida worker says he was fired over body odor and took to social media to vent about the decision, sharing a video of himself being escorted by security. The comments, however, quickly turned into a mix of jokes, deodorant recs, legal advice, and skepticism about whether smelling bad was really the only reason he lost his job.
In the video, posted to TikTok, user @justchiillin appears frustrated while explaining what allegedly happened. “Bro, I work so hard, I’m musty at work. Now they wanna fire me,” he says. “Bitch, how you fire me cause I’m musty?“
The Florida creator goes on to defend his work ethic, suggesting the issue stemmed from how much effort he put into his job. “How you mad because I work my [expletive] off?” he asks. The clip ends with him directing criticism toward the person responsible for the termination, as he exits the building.
The Comment Section Had Jokes and Recs
Many viewers found humor in the situation, turning the creator’s story into a series of smell-related jokes. “Bro got fired for being funky,” one person wrote. Others took a more practical approach, immediately offering advice about deodorant and antiperspirants to address the odor issue. “Was you using aluminum free deodorant?” one commenter asked while others suggested products ranging from clinical-strength deodorant to body wipes.
Several viewers also questioned the creator’s version of events, arguing that being fired over body odor likely wasn’t a one-time issue.”This can’t be the first time,” one commenter said. “If they told you that’s why you’re fired, they’ve told you before about the problem,” another added.
Others wondered if there was more context missing from the video altogether.”Guaranteed that’s not why he got fired,” one person wrote. “I feel like we’re missing key pieces,” another commenter said. A smaller group focused less on smell and more on workplace rights, suggesting the creator look into whether he had grounds to challenge the termination.
While commenters couldn’t agree on whether the creator had a case or was leaving out important details, they were united in having plenty of opinions about workplace hygiene.
