Delta Flight Passengers Stuck for 2 Hours Find the Most Unlikely Savior in Georgia: ‘I’d Recommend Against Doing This’

Don’t give them any more ideas

Delayed flights are always a frustrating experience, especially when there’s really not much you can do about them, but some passengers on a delayed flight in Georgia actually got saved by the most unlikely hero: the pilot, even though the plane was still stuck on the ground. That’s because the pilot finally got fed up with the two-hour delay and did the job of the baggage handlers, loading up every single piece of baggage on the plane. The video has since gone viral.

The incident occurred earlier last week on a Delta Airlines plane at an airport in Atlanta, Georgia. According to Reddit user MRSRN65, the flight has been delayed for more than two hours. It’s not clear what delayed the plane, but it appears there was only one baggage handler loading up the bags, unclear whether for the whole airport or just that particular flight.

Hence, “the pilot went out to help” and took matters into his own hands. He was later identified as Captain Paul. In the video, you can see him carefully handling the passengers’ baggage, earning him praise.

According to the Reddit user, the plane eventually landed safely, and Captain Paul didn’t seem too winded or exhausted from all the bag loading. Additionally, their destination thankfully had adequate baggage handlers. Captain Paul, meanwhile, was initially praised all over the internet for helping out and doing what most other airline employees wouldn’t.

“Reading that the pilot actually hopped out to load bags is wild,” claims one commenter. Another one joked about how the pilot handled the bags, given how most baggage handlers just chuck them around violently. “I don’t understand, how is he able to load the plane without violently chucking the bags at bizarre angles in an effort to break wheels handles and zippers?” jokes the commenter.

People online are arguing that the pilot shouldn’t have done that

On the other hand, and despite the pilot helping out and getting the passengers to their destination quicker than usual, his help has raised some concerns online. The most common issue raised was how it was either the airport or the airline’s fault and that the pilot shouldn’t be shouldering a corporation’s mistakes. Hence, one Redditor point out how, “Union is gonna lose their mind” even though no such union allegedly exists for the Atlanta ramp.

Over at X, some commenters speculated why this particular incident had to occured, with one commenter stating, “This happens because Delta has drastically shifted the way they treat their employees. The ramp agents are probably being over worked and extremely stressed because all Delta seems to focus on is punishing rather than development.”

Despite the good gesture from the pilot, it appears opinions are still negative toward Delta Airlines, and others had to voice out their worries. “I’d recommend against doing this. @Delta and other airlines will see it and recognize it as a cost-cutting measure,” assumes one commenter, while another agreed with him, saying, “It will be the norm after they see that they can get away with it.”
