A Wisconsin woman was filmed throwing a soda at a cashier inside a restaurant during a dispute over a charge before claiming the confrontation happened because she is black.
According to claims circulating online, the dispute began after the woman allegedly tried to avoid paying for her soda, but the cashier required her to pay for it. However, this account has not been independently verified. The video showed the woman repeatedly yelling at the cashier, demanding, “Give me my change.” The cashier appeared to calmly explain the amount she was paying and how much change she would receive. Despite his explanation, the woman continued repeating the same demand several times.
As the cashier attempted to hand the woman her change, she snatched it from his hand. “Give me my damn change, [expletive],” she told him. The confrontation unfolded in front of the woman’s young daughter. She then said they would not return to the restaurant and claimed they had visited the business many times before but were “insulted by this man about a soda in a cup.” As she made the accusation, she repeatedly pointed at the cashier while continuing to yell.
“Sorry, ma’am,” the cashier told her as she continued yelling. The woman then walked back toward him and said, “You go crazy about a [expletive] drink, like I don’t wanna pay you, [expletive].” She grabbed her soda and began telling the cashier that she would show him how much money she had in her purse. As she did so, she continued directing profanity at him, shouting, “[Expletive] I can pay you for a [expletive] drink.” Some viewers interpreted her comments as supporting the online claim that the dispute may have started over paying for the drink, although that account has not been independently verified.
The woman continued cursing at the cashier, who repeatedly responded by saying, “Have a nice day.” She then claimed the confrontation was motivated by her race, asking, “Don’t ever try me. Cause I’m black? You think you can try me by the [expletive] soda cause I’m black?” Moments later, she appeared to throw her soda cup in the cashier’s direction while continuing to shout profanities. She also threw the cup’s lid at him before leaving the restaurant with her daughter. The cashier again calmly replied, “Have a nice day.” It is unclear whether the woman returned to the restaurant later or whether law enforcement became involved.
Viewers Criticize Wisconsin Woman Over Behavior at Restaurant
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers criticized the Wisconsin woman over the way she treated the cashier, with some arguing that her behavior set a poor example for her daughter, who was present during the confrontation. “And that’s where the kids learned to be disrespectful,” one person wrote. Others questioned why she brought up race during the dispute. “Why is she bringing in RACE to this????” another commenter asked.
Several viewers also accused the woman of attempting to take the drink without paying for it. “So, she steals a drink and then gets mad at you for holding her accountable?” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “It’s ridiculous that she got caught stealing putting soda in a water cup and she’s irateI’m [sic].” Someone else added, “Dealing with this kind of behavior is exhausting. All that [expletive] over a soda?” These comments reflect the opinions and allegations of individual social media users.
The video sparked a conversation about the importance of treating employees with respect, even during disagreements over purchases or charges. It also led to broader discussion about whether businesses should ban customers who engage in abusive or disruptive behavior and whether publicly identifying such incidents is an appropriate way to encourage accountability.
