Saving your family from a vampire-infested nightmare is important, sure. But even when he’s turned into a cold-blooded creature of the night, Coen can still make time for a little romance. The game offers three different romance partners — and best of all, you don’t have to commit to just one of them. If saving Vale Sangora gets too stressful, here’s how to romance Anca, Lacra, and Crake in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

All Romance Options in The Blood of Dawnwalker

The Blood of Dawnwalker features three romance options, each tied to their own optional questline: Anca, Lacra, and Crake. You can romance all three in a single playthrough, and all you need to do is complete their personal quests while picking the right choices.

Click each character’s name below to jump straight to their detailed sections:

  • Anca.
  • Lacra.
  • Crake.

How to Romance Anca

The herbalist from Laslea, Coen meets Anca during the prologue while looking for medicine for his mother. From that point onward, you can start laying the groundwork for their relationship almost immediately. Here are Anca’s romance questlines in The Blood of Dawnwalker:

  1. “Page Turner”
  2. “Echoes of Silenced Bells”
  3. “Between the Words” – Important romance options:
    • Prepare tea for her.
    • “It’s my pleasure.”
    • “Always, what do you mean?”
    • “Your feelings towards me — it’s more than just faith.”
  4. “Where Old Devils Lie” – Important romance options:
    • “That’s what you see me as — a friend?”
    • “Who knows what else I have in store for you.”
    • “Something troubling you?”
    • “I care about you”
  5. “Stronger Than Achilles” – Important romance options:
    • “Better me than you.”
    • Let her use the Font.
    • “I’d do anything for you.”
    • “I love you.”
    • “I beg to differ.”
    • “Screw decency, I want you too.”

How to Romance Lacra

Lacra is a vrakhiri with her own reasons for wanting Brencis gone and there are multiple ways to find her. First, you can meet her by defeating Ambrus during “The Gilded Gauntlet” and read the note on his corpse. Alternatively, help Ocha during “The Heart Wants What It Wants” and ask her about potential allies. This eventually leads you to “A Study in Crimson,” which is a path pointing towards Lacra.

Coen the smoothtalker could then turn the case of ‘the enemy of my enemy’ into something much more intimate by completing her romance questline:

  1. “A Friend Like This”
  2. “The Song of the Mountain”
  3. “Hive and Seek” – Important romance responses:
    • “Now you’re just showing off.”
    • “Quite so.”
  4. “Our Rotten Roots”
  5. “The Night of Horrors” – Important romance responses:
    • Eat the Mandrake.
    • “Can vrakhiri get drunk?”
    • “Who says I’m not?”
    • “[drink].”
    • “[kiss her].”
  6. “Midnight Reckoning”

As an additional note, if you want Lacra to appear in the epilogue, make sure to finish her storyline through “Midnight Reckoning.”

How to Romance Crake

Crake is the leader of the Manumit rebels fighting against the Vrakhiri Court. Understandably, trusting a half-vampire isn’t exactly easy for him, so Coen has to prove his loyalty first. Do so by clearing this questline:

  1. “The Firebrand”
  2. “Shadows in the Woods”
  3. “Where Loyalty Lies”
  4. “What Hunts the Night”
  5. “What Moves the Dead” – Important romance response:
    • Help him remove his armor and patch up his wounds.
  6. “Distant Shadows”
  7. “A Closer Look” – Important romance response:
    • “Hey. Nothing you say can change the way I see you.”
    • “[kiss him back]”

You can start The Firebrand during the prologue either by saving Vlad or investigating his home in Laslea if he dies. Speaking with Mert afterwards starts “Shadows in the Woods” and introduces you to Crake. Alternatively, you can head directly to the Manumit hideout in Svartrau and begin “Where Loyalty Lies.”

For Crake’s appearance in the epilogue, you’ll need to complete “Rise at Dawn” and follow the Manumit storyline through its ending.
