An Indiana man says he pulled a 9-year-old boy out of the brush after the child was ejected from a car crash, then stayed by his side comforting him until police arrived. The video left viewers stunned by how young the boy was, with many focused on his survival while others raised concerns about how he ended up behind the wheel in the first place.

Posted to TikTok by Marcos aka @user159822979, the video shows him walking beside the boy, holding his hand. “You are lucky to be alive,” he tells him, before turning to the camera. “This kid was doing 100 miles an hour,” he says. The boy pushes back, insisting he wasn’t going that fast. Marcos tells him he flew out of the car, which is now on fire nearby.

The crying child tells the Indiana creator he was hoping someone would save him. He then says he’s worried about his grandmother’s car. Marcos reassures him and tells him to focus on the fact that he survived the crash.

Later, when the creator suggests talking to police, the boy grows afraid, saying he thinks he’ll be arrested. The man tells him no one is going to arrest him as officers approach.

Eventually, the video cuts to Marcos speaking off camera, adding that he hopes no one else was in the car, saying he believes they likely wouldn’t have survived.

Marcos’s response resonated with plenty of commenters as much as the crash itself. “You both seem to be in shock. Him for what he just went through and you for what you just saw and did! You are God sent for that child!” one commenter wrote.

Several viewers wanted more information about the Indiana boy’s physical condition. “But is he ok?? Did he get checked out just in case internal injuries or head injuries?? Poor baby,” another asked.

The boy’s tears also became a point of discussion for some, who felt sympathy only went so far given how the crash happened. “Why he crying when he’s the one that took his granny car and crashed, smh. But he is truly blessed to be with us,” one person wrote.

Someone else speculated about what was likely waiting for him at home. “The way he hollering. His granny gone whoop his everlasting behind.”

Others wanted to turn their reaction into direct support. “Let’s get some venmo going so you can help get him some therapy, a few toys, some clothes so he can have a good school year. He needs love and community. He needs you,” one suggested.

One commenter pointed out that Marcos already has a fundraiser linked in his bio for the boy. They also urged others to move past judging the child’s decision, adding, “let’s not forget we aren’t in everyone’s shoes to know what they deal with and what they’re going through… let’s make it about the fact he survived!!!“

What seemed to matter most to viewers was that Marcos showed up when this child needed someone. Sometimes showing up is as simple as staying when someone is scared and reminding them they aren’t alone.
