An Illinois woman was filmed admitting to being racist while yelling at a black man over his decision to park in front of a store.
The man filmed the encounter from inside his car, parked outside the store. The woman stood next to his vehicle and began questioning him, saying, “Why are you parked here? Do you think you are better than everybody else?” She then explained that everyone else parks in the parking lot.
As the man tried to explain that he was waiting for his wife, the woman continued escalating the situation. She began using language that viewers saw as racist, referring to him as “your kind.” The man responded in disbelief and repeatedly asked, “my kind?” The woman then gave him the middle finger and told him, “[expletive] you [expletive],” before asking, “Who do you think you are?”
The man then asked the woman if she was racist. Instead of denying it, she smiled and told him, “Yeah, I’m racist.” The admission made the man laugh, and the woman kept asking, “Who do you think you are?” She then asked whether he was racist, which he denied. The woman followed by questioning why he thought he was better than her and believed he was entitled to park in front of the store.
As the man reminded the woman that she had just admitted to being racist, she responded, “I don’t care.” She repeated the statement after he pointed out that she was on camera. “Because I’m not an [expletive] like you,” she continued. The woman then referenced a racist stereotype about black people by telling the man, “Go get your EBT.” After she eventually walked away, the man continued filming and insulted her as well, calling her a “White [expletive].” It remains unclear whether the woman returned to the scene.
Viewers Call Out Illinois Woman After Admitting to Being Racist
Online and in the comment sections, many viewers criticized the white Illinois woman over her behavior toward the black man and her admission that she was racist. Some commenters also connected the incident to the current administration, with one person writing, “Trump made hate great again . . .” Another person said, “Why do these women have to define stereotypes? They do it so well then get pissed when someone calls them out on it,” as they criticized the woman’s comments.
Others believed the man should have ignored the woman instead of engaging with her. “His first response should’ve been ‘none of your [expletive] business’. Stop engaging with these Karens,” one person wrote. Another person said, “I would have just rolled up my window and laid on the horn until she walked away.” Someone else added, “Exactly‼‼! The entire conversation was unnecessary. I would’ve hurt grandma’s feelings. As soon as she leaned in, I would’ve told her that her breath smelled like hot garbage and to go buy some Listerine. Then I would’ve rolled up the widows.”
The encounter left viewers discussing the racist incidents that black people may experience in their daily lives. It also brought attention to calls for people who make racist comments to be filmed and held accountable for their behavior.
