A California man paid over $1,000 for Gorillaz concert tickets so he could take his 13-year-old sister for a fun time. However, during the concert, security pulled the pair out because of his camera. The real kicker is that he claims he was permitted to bring his camera in the first place!
Diesses (@diessess) took his 13-year-old sister to see her first Gorillaz concert. When entering the Kia Forum stadium, security witnessed Diesses bringing his Sony ZV-1F camera with him. He alleges they even told him the camera was “approved” by the security manager. Thinking it was fine, he took out his camera to record before the show started. However, right as the show was starting, security pulled Diesses and his sister from their seats and told them to follow them out of the concert hall.
In Diesses’ video, security leads them from their seats down a hallway, so they miss the concert. According to him, this all happened while Damon Albarn (the vocalist for Gorillaz) was in their section. They missed meeting him and hearing him perform several songs. Security can be heard telling Diesses, “They just want to talk to you about your camera.” Diesses asks them, “Why are you guys treating me like this?”
In an update video of the incident, Diesses is speaking with security, who tells him his camera isn’t permitted. They explain that tour workers are very “strict” about cameras being permitted at the forum. However, they tell him that his camera is typically allowed in their concert hall. He states, “You’re right. Normally, we let those in, no problem.” For some reason, however, Diesses’ camera was an issue, and they took him away from the concert to tell him.
Eventually, Diesses and his sister made it back to the concert, but only after missing out on meeting the lead singer up close. Diesses was irritated by the situation and spoke out about it on TikTok. This prompted reactions from commenters, many of whom felt that the stadium and security were in the wrong. One commenter stated, “If security permitted it at entry, it should’ve been fine.” Another urged, “If you contact Ticketmaster and send them this video, they might be able to get you a partial refund or full refund through the promoter.”
Others, however, had different opinions on what transpired at Kia Forum. One commenter asked, “Why does everyone want to record everything? Just enjoy the moment, be in the moment!” Another commenter shared, “I do tons of camera work professionally. Don’t bring any cameras in. You got your phone camera.” Commenters continue to share their opinions and reactions on Diesses’ video as he speaks out about what he experienced.
