A man in South Carolina hired a private investigator (PI) to follow his wife around, knowing what she was up to. The PI allegedly found her downing six drinks at a local bar and then driving to a gas station to get more beer. Police got involved, and the woman was most likely placed under arrest.
Austin the PI, the private investigator in question, vlogged his findings and posted them on social media. He often posts educational and comedy-style content online, mixing it up with Q&As and vlogs similar to the one attached above. The clip in question went viral in less than a day, garnering 475,300 views, 29,000 likes, and more than 850 comments.
The South Carolina PI explained that a man had hired him to follow and catch his wife drinking and driving. Of all places, Austin found the woman at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was a Monday at 12:03 p.m. The PI entered the restaurant and spotted the woman. Based on his photos, she drank six drinks while at the wing joint.
Drunk Driving?
Once Austin exited the restaurant, he prepared for what would happen next. He told the camera, “My client thinks she’s gonna get in her car and go straight to get more booze at, like, a gas station or something. So that’s what we gotta wait for.”
Things went down exactly as the husband had predicted. Allegedly, the woman, who had downed six drinks, got in her car and drove to a nearby gas station. Austin, again, followed her inside and caught her buying two more beers.
The South Carolina man called the police, who then pulled over the woman, according to him. As he had to leave the area, he wasn’t entirely certain if the woman was charged with a DUI, although that seemed like the most likely scenario. He did manage to spot police officers conducting field sobriety tests on her, so the outcome, given her recent drink choices, was pretty much a given.
Social Media Reactions
Viewers were shocked by the woman’s alleged actions. Online, one exclaimed, “On a Monday morning!” Another commenter called out the restaurant employee, saying, “That bartender should be fired.”
Others theorized that a future divorce was on the husband’s mind when he hired Austin in the first place. One wrote, “Husband has to be doing this for the divorce, otherwise it makes zero sense.” Finally, some felt sorry for the woman, with one saying, “This is sad. She’s obviously suffering from addiction.”
Regardless of marital friction, drinking and driving is a serious matter for everyone involved, with potentially devastating consequences for innocent people. Hopefully, this potential arrest will lead to definite change.
