A Florida woman claims that she was almost kidnapped while shopping at a Dollar Tree. It all started when a man seemed to be following her around the store. Things got even more dire when the woman claimed the man wasn’t alone and that a group was targeting her.
The story was shared on the woman’s TikTok account, kyndallwynn. It got several hundred thousand views, with many users expressing concern for the woman.
The woman said that she was at the Dollar Tree to buy supplies to clean her car. When the unknown man began to follow her, she tried to lose him and keep her distance. Things became even more concerning when a second man appeared and shouted toward an open storage room, asking if anyone was inside. When no response came, the second man tried to grab her.
The Florida woman ran to the checkout area and approached another customer so she wouldn’t be alone. Another woman also came to escort the Florida woman back to her car, though not before she locked eyes with her possible kidnapper as he said that he would be going outside when the woman expressed her desire to leave the store. She did escape safely, and now the woman wants to warn others to be more careful when shopping and not stare at their phones.
Florida Woman’s Story Leaves Viewers Terrified
The commenters were extremely worried and scared about what happened to the Florida woman. Many applauded her for her quick thinking and for trusting her gut feeling. Others expressed relief knowing that she was safe.
Some people, though, asked why the woman didn’t just call the police. “I would have straight up taken photos of all those men, and called the cops. Why are we not calling the cops? I don’t understand,” one user wrote. To this, the woman said that the police wouldn’t be able to do anything since no crime had happened yet.
Others suggested various ways to stay safe while shopping alone, like being extremely loud and obnoxious if you feel you might be in danger. Some said to approach a staff member. One user said to just yell at the possible kidnapper directly and be aggressive to make them back down.
It was a good thing that the Florida woman managed to escape her predicament. Her warnings aren’t bad advice to follow, either. It’s always best to trust your gut feelings to avoid danger.
