We have a new trailer for DC’s next animated film, Reign of the Supermen (courtesy of IGN). You can see the full trailer down below:
Reign of the Supermen is a direct sequel to The Death of Superman, another animated DC project that released earlier this year. After Superman’s death, four new “Supermen” begin to pop up to take up the mantle. These four are Cyborg Superman, Superboy, The Eradicator, and Steel.
With the rest of the universe now knowing of Superman’s demise, it is now open-season on Earth and it may be up to these new Supermen to stop it. What will be interesting is how Reign of the Supermen deals with this looming threat over the planet and how the movie plans to incorporate the Superman “replacements” (especially Cyborg Superman).
Cyborg Superman/Hank Henshaw voice actor Patrick Fabian spoke to IGN about the movie, saying:
“It’s got all the elements that you’re looking for in terms of familiarity, and yet it’s got these twists and turns and this emotional arc for many different characters. I would venture to say even Cyborg Superman himself has a wonderful emotional arc, if you can get with that. And I think that sets it apart from a lot of movies, without a doubt,”
“I think people are gonna get what they want. The ride is really good. Like I said, it earns its moments, both emotionally and action-wise, and I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of this.”
Reign of the Supermen stars Jerry O’Connell, Rebecca Romijn, Rainn Wilson, Patrick Fabian, Cress Williams, Nathan Fillion, and many more. You can expect to see it available on Blu-ray, DVD, and on digital sometime in 2019.
