BioWare released Dragon Age: Inquisition all the way back on November 18, 2014. Seeing that it was the most recent Dragon Age game, you can say that it’s overdue for a new one. According to a blog post from BioWare’s General Manager, Casey Hudson, Dragon Age is due for some news in this coming month.
This was said yesterday during in a post about Anthem, the upcoming multiplayer RPG from BioWare that will be launching in Februaryย as of now.ย Most likely this means that we will get some Dragon Age news at The Game Awards. Hudson basically said that there will be a series of Dragon Age stuff.
That Dragonย Age stuff was worked on by not only Hudson but the Executive Producer on Dragon Age: Inquisition. He mentioned this recently on social media. In this social media post, Hudson says that Dragon Age is an incredibly important game to the studio.
Since Inquisition was the most recent game,ย you can expect that they’ll mention its success. It was even rated Game of The Year by Polygon. Hudson wants fans to continue to search for new Dragon Age news on their own adding that he won’t “Tell you where to look”.
Either way, it’s exciting to hear them mentioning something about Dragon Age. Especially, as someone who played Dragon Age: Inquisition. Dragon Age had three game releases since the franchise has started. However, there hasn’t been any new Dragon Age talk because BioWare switched its focus to games like Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem. And I must say I’m pretty excited to play Anthem so it was worth it.
Creative Director on Dragon Age, Mike Laidlaw, actually left Bioware at the end of 2017. He also had a hand in Mass Effect and other Bioware projects. Earlier that year, Bioware started working on another Dragon Age game but there wasn’t much said about it.
