Public school is operated very differently from other schools because of the way that they get their funding. As a result, there are many stereotypes associated with public schools that typically put them in a negative light. One New York mother discovered this firsthand after discovering how her daughter’s high school was handling death threats that her daughter had received.

It’s alleged that the school failed to act appropriately, and information about its connections with the accused student has since come to light. Commenters all agreed that the school should have handled things more professionally, and some of the replies point to legal action.

Apparently when you’re besties with the school guidance/social worker your kid can send death threat text messages and the rest of us just need to relax? #nycschools #nycdoe #nychighschool #bullying #schoolsprotectingbullys

A New York mother who goes by the name KhaoswithKrissy went to TikTok to post a video accusing her daughter’s high school of not handling a situation appropriately. She alleges that her daughter’s social worker from the school called her and informed her that a situation had occurred, but that it was being handled. Krissy ended up discovering that the situation involved text message death threats being sent to her daughter.

Krissy ended up doing some additional digging and discovered that the school likely knew who was suspected of sending the messages and that the social worker was allegedly good friends with their father. She also alleges that the person who took down her daughter and other students who also received death threats’ statements about the situation was the very same social worker.

As additional information about the involved came to light, Krissy reportedly continued to get pushback about the situation, though she persisted for the sake of her daughter. She even created a video update concerning next steps, which included going to the superintendent’s office and having the involved teachers investigated.

Commenters were in shock that something like this could happen, with many people agreeing that she should go to the police or get a lawyer involved. One person even said, “Girl, I’m a lawyer, not your lawyer. Please file a police report. NOW. get a lawyer. ASAP.” Another top comment said, “Commenting so your lawyer fees don’t come from your bank account.”

The video updating viewers shows that Krissy is taking various steps to report the situation and document everything that has happened thus far. The very last step revolves around involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It’s hoped that this same situation doesn’t repeat itself.
