As a character who’s been in the franchise ever since the first installment launched, Jaheira is a Baldur’s Gate 3 companion every fan will want in their party. As a reliable party member, veterans of the series certainly understand the value she’ll add to their team, while newcomers will find out she’s the legendary commander of a rebel group against Ketheric Thorm. So, if you want to be another big fan of this iconic character and join Karlach in idolizing this Druid, here we’ll tell you how to make her a permanent party member.
To recruit Jaheira as a companion in Baldur’s Gate 3, the first thing you must do is reach Act 2 and meet her. The fastest way to do this is through the Underdark, as you’ll get to Last Light Inn much faster. Once you’re in Last Light Inn, these are the things you must do:
- Speak to Jaheira and head upstairs to speak with Isobel.
- Win the fight against the enemies that attack Last Light Inn.
- If Isobel gets kidnapped, fight all the enemies and keep Jaheira alive.
- After the fight, talk to Jaheira and tell her to join you in the fight against Ketheric Thorm.
- Head to Moonrise Towers and Jaheira will join you as a follower.
- Defeat the enemies on the ground and second floors, and defeat Ketheric Thorm on top of Moonrise Towers.
- After the fight, speak to Jaheira and ask her to join you (you won’t be able to change party members until you beat the final phase of Ketheric Thorm).
- Defeat Ketheric Thorm for good and head to Baldur’s Gate (Act 3).
- Speak to Jaheira, who is now at your camp at the beginning of Act 3, as a permanent companion.
Options That Prevent You From Recruiting Jaheira
If you want to recruit Jaheira in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must avoid these decisions when playing through the second act:
- If playing as a Dark Urge character, don’t kill Isobel.
- Don’t kill Nightsong after finishing the Gauntlet of Shar.
These are essentially the two big choices you need to avoid when playing and before the Moonrise Towers fight. If you do any of them, Jahaire will die by your hand or off-screen, preventing you from recruiting her.
Is Jaheira Worth Recruiting?
Personally, we think Jaheira is a fantastic addition to any team. Firstly, due to her story. She has many things in the game that unfold during the third Act. While she is not necessary for recruiting Minsc, having her is great as there are some fun interactions between them and some nods to the series. Sadly, though, she isn’t romanceable. However, she’s another Druid that, while initially seems similar to Halsin, is more melee and DPS focused, meaning you can get another damage-dealer by the game’s final Act.
