Pandirna is one of the side characters you can meet in Druid Grove during Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3. She is in the storage shack, in the northern part of the location, guarding a chest with Rat’s Treasure. As it turns out, she’s paralyzed because she drank Auntie Ethel‘s potion, which was supposed to make her stronger, so now you’ll find out if you should help Pandirna in Baldur’s Gate 3. There are several options for interacting with this character, ranging from assistance to killing and looting the chest.
The Consequences of Helping Pandirna
Pandirna in Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the tiefling guards who protect the territory from goblin attacks. Preparing for the enemy attack, she drank a potion given to her by Auntie Ethel, hoping to improve her abilities and be much stronger in battle. Unfortunately, the hag’s potion made her weaker, paralyzing her legs, and now she needs help. When you enter the building where she is staying, you can also see the chest she is protecting. To find out more about the chest, you can use the Speak with Animals spell to talk to the rat and find out about the treasure.
It’s also worth noting that as soon as you enter the storage shack, Pandirna will get scared, and you will have the following options to choose from:
- Attack her.
- Deception.
- I’m just looking around.
- Insight.
- Intimidation.
- Persuasion.
In this situation, the best choice is Deception because in almost all other cases you will have to fight the guards. So, when you talk to her, you can decide what to do.
The first thing that comes to mind is to help and heal her. In fact, it’s not difficult and can be done effortlessly, all you need to do is use the Lesser Restoration spell on her. This ability can be used by classes such as:
Characters of these classes must be at least level 3 to use the spell. If you don’t know whom to choose, Shadowheart level 3 should have this spell. So when you finally help Pandirna and heal her, nothing will happen. Yes, you read that right, she will literally thank you for your help and allow you to stay in the building, provided you don’t touch or steal anything. From the side of altruism and virtue, you can do this, but many players still want to get the treasures that are in the chest. If you try to interact with the chest, Pandirna will call the guards, and you will have to fight. This is a terrible option because if you kill all the tieflings, you will block a significant part of the plot in Act 1. If you still want to get the treasure, there is another option.
Do Not Help Pandirna
If you don’t want to help her and just came here to steal, then this option is for you. Given that almost nothing depends on Pandirna’s life, you can kill her, but it won’t be easy. The fact is that if you want to harm her, she will call for help and the guards will immediately come to the building.
The best way would be to deceive her as in the first method, but instead of healing her, make one of your characters invisible and perform a sneak attack. If you do it right, you can kill her before she raises the alarm. As a result, you can loot everything here. The chest will probably be the main find, but you may be disappointed with the treasures waiting for you there, namely:
- Gold
- Bloodstone
- Cabinet Key (will help you open the Alchemist’s cabinet, which contains potions)
If you think that Pandirna’s life is not worth these items, you can rob the chest in another way. To achieve this, you’ll need the Fog Cloud spell so that she doesn’t see anything and a character with the best stealth. Now, just use the potion and sneak up on the chest to rob it.
So, now that you see the pros and cons of each option, we can talk about whether you should help Pandirna in Baldur’s Gate 3. Actually, it’s up to you. Given that nothing will change from this choice, you can either cure, kill, or leave her alone. It won’t take much time to help her, so we think it’s the best option, given that you’ll still have a chance to loot the chest.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available on PC and PS5.
