Multiplayer is probably the first place to go after saving the world once more in a Call of Duty Campaign. Black Ops series is one of the best in the franchise to introduce many new features to the Multiplayer of CoD, including the specialists system, unique weapons and gadgets, and of course, some of the most iconic maps that are still getting remakes and remasters in recent titles. Treyarch’s craft has pleased us to play in some of the finest Call of Duty playgrounds, and here are the top 10 iconic, and classic Multiplayer maps in all Black Ops games.
10. Hijacked
Introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Hijacked is somehow the Shipment of the BO series. It’s a small cruise ship where you engage in combat every second of the match. You can stay on your base, hold the line and kill the enemy targets from the second floor of the two cabins on each side. Or, you can rush through, hide inside the enemy’s cabin and kill them before they reach the frontlines.
9. Grind
Many of the best Call of Duty: Black Ops series Multiplayer maps are small in size, but Grind is a big one. It’s a skatepark, with obstacles and slide blocks double working as covers in gunfights. The map features a vast open area on the sides for those who love sniping, and smaller interior parts for close-range combat and flanking gameplay.
8. Crossroads (Strike)
During the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta, a big map called the Crossroads was launched, and it quickly became a fan favorite. The only problem with the map, however, was its big size and too many open areas on the sides that were not populated with covers. Treyarch fixed this with the main game, giving fans the Strike 6v6 version of the Crossroads, something that played perfectly for the camo grinders.
7. Hacienda
A Black Ops 4 original, Hacienda is a normal-sized map with 3-lanes separated by a mansion in the middle. Hacienda is best for the Search and Destroy gameplay, as the two bomb sides are located on two exactly opposite sides of the map. However, it does give room for every playstyle, which is a neat feature to allow both the campers and rush guys to enjoy the game.
6. Slums
Unlike most maps that feature open areas on the sides, Slums has more covers and alleys on both. However, the middle ground is only a square with steps and a statue. This area is where all the tricky plays come into action, as you can switch lanes and travel to the other side of the map to kill the opponents from the rear. Thanks to this feature, Slums gives players so many options as to where they can rush, camp, or patrol the bases.
5. Raid
Raid is one of the best large Black Ops maps that made its debut with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The map has three lanes, of course, but each one of them is heavily detailed with rooms, covers, and even a separate square to go around. One side has a more open area for sniping, the other is the one with the square and more covers for flanking gameplay, and the middle is a medium-sized yard with a few covers and access to all areas around the map.
4. Summit
Although Summit is smaller than Raid and Slums, it delivers a better competitive gameplay experience. The sides of the map have ways to reach the other, crossing the middle from two floors. The B side of the map, however, is where players can either reach the second floor and rain fire on their enemies or take cover behind the many obstacles and flank the target from the lower side routes.
3. Firing Range
As we get to the end of the list, we’re ranking the best iconic and classic Black Ops maps here, which echo the title of the series. Firing Range, for instance, is one of the most balanced Call of Duty maps of all time. The map features three buildings in the middle, suitable for patrolling the B area with LMGs and sniper rifles, while each side is uniquely designed for flanking and taking the fight of the middle side without getting too close.
2. Nuketown (of course..)
Nuketown is Black Ops. The classic Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer map is one of the best in featuring a great balance for players on both sides. Players spawn behind a house and a garage on almost identical sides of the map, with all 3 lanes merged by the tricky middle ground. Sniper duels on the second floor of the two spawn buildings are legendary, while the chaos takes place between the two vehicles and the Nuketown logo in the middle of the map.
1. Standoff
Standoff is one perfectly balanced Call of Duty Multiplayer map that made its debut in Black Ops 2. The map is huge, featuring various buildings across the different sides of this L-shaped playground. The majority of the fight would take place in the middle, where all three householders can engage. There are enough ways like the backside alleys and house-to-house routes to flank, keeping the combat’s dynamic as high and engaging as possible; unless the opposing team are sweat lords.
