The Traveler is the first character you get in HoYoverse’s legendary gacha installment for free. Whether you picked Aether or Lumine, or whichever name you gave them, they are the first truly versatile party member you get and, of course, the one character that leads the story. With this character evolving as new Versions arrive in the game, it might be challenging to understand their different gameplay aspects. But don’t let that discourage you. With the right build and team comp, the Traveler can be a fantastic companion in Genshin Impact.
Best Weapons for The Traveler Build in Genshin Impact
Since each new nation of Genshin Impact brings a new element for the Traveler, we’ve prepared a build for each one and included 5-star and 4-star weapons. While the Traveler might not rank as high as other premium characters in the game, having them around as support is still useful in many situations. Here are the weapons we recommend:
Anemo Support | Geo Support | Electro Sub-DPS | Dendro Sub-DPS | Hydro DPS |
---|---|---|---|---|
1. Skyward Blade 2. Favonius Sword | 1. Primordial Jade Cutter 2. Festering Desire | 1. Skyward Blade 2. Sacrificial Sword | 1. Freedom-Sworn 2. Sacrificial Sword | 1. Haran Tsukishiro Futsu 2. The Black Sword |
Best Artifact Set
Aether and Lumine are characters that can generate elemental reactions in all its elements. This makes the Traveler quite versatile in almost every team comp in Genshin Impact, provided you have the time and more to get the right items for them. Below is a list of the artifacts we recommend for each element.
Anemo Support | Geo Support | Electro Sub-DPS | Dendro Sub-DPS | Hydro DPS |
---|---|---|---|---|
Viridescent Venerer 4-Pieces: Increases Swirl DMG by 60%. Decreases opponent’s Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10s. | Archaic Petra 4-Pieces: Upon obtaining an Elemental Shard created through a Crystallize Reaction, all party members gain a 35% DMG Bonus for that particular element for 10s. Only one form of Elemental DMG Bonus can be gained in this manner at any one time. | Emblem of Severed Fate 4-Pieces: Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 25% of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75% bonus DMG can be obtained in this way. | Deepwood Memories 4-Pieces: After Elemental Skills or Bursts hit opponents, the targets’ Dendro RES will be decreased by 30% for 8s. This effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field. | Echoes of an Offering 4-Pieces: When Normal Attacks hit opponents, there is a 36% chance that it will trigger Valley Rite, which will increase Normal Attack DMG by 60% of ATK. This effect will be dispelled 0.05s after a Normal Attack deals DMG. If a Normal Attack fails to trigger Valley Rite, the odds of it triggering the next time will increase by 20%. This trigger can occur once every 0.3s. |
Best Team Comp The Traveler
Fortunately, The Traveler is a character that has good synergy with many other members and elements. Both Aether and Lumine can adapt easily to any group. Since the Traveler will usually be the wildcard of a team, here are the ones we consider make them shine more:
Anemo Support | Geo Support | Electro Sub-DPS | Dendro Sub-DPS | Hydro DPS |
---|---|---|---|---|
Main DPS: Xiao Sub-DPS: Xiangling Support: The Traveler Support: Bennett | Main DPS: Hu Tao Sub-DPS: Xingqiu Support: The Traveler Support: Zhongli | Main DPS: Eula Sub-DPS: Xingqiu Support: Bennett Support: Zhongli /Diona | Main DPS: Tartaglia Sub-DPS: The Traveler Sub-DPS: Fischl Support: Shinobu | Main DPS: The Traveler Main DPS: Hu Tao Support: Yun Jin Support: Zhongli |
Lastly, remember that it is not very relevant if you choose Aether or Lumine unless you care a lot about the canon twin for the story, which in this case is Aether. In terms of gameplay, nothing changes, and it should all depend on personal choice. And while they might not be the best, they are the closest thing you have to the Avatar (not to be confused with the blue natives of Pandora) when it comes to controlling elements. So, pick your favorite and master each nation’s power to help the citizens of Teyvat.
