Ultimate Weapons are guns that can only be obtained through crafting. They don’t just look visually unique but are armed with special attributes — and negative stats to balance things out. They can also be combined up to four times to boost their effectiveness even further. Nevertheless, not all Ultimate Weapons are made equal, and our The First Descendant tier list will help you pick out the cream of the crop.
Ultimate Weapon Tier List in The First Descendant
Tier | Busters |
---|---|
S | Divine Punishment, Greg’s Reversed Fate, Nazeistra’s Devotion, Restored Relic, Smithereens, Thunder Cage, Wave of Light |
A | Afterglow Sword, Blue Beetle, King Guard’s Lance, The Final Masterpiece |
B | Enduring Legacy, Executor, Fallen Hope, Python, Piercing Light, Secret Garden, Sigvore’s Proof |
C | Albion Cavalry Gun, Clairvoyance, Perforator, The Last Dagger |
Our The First Descendant tier list consists of all currently available 22 Ultimate Weapons and is categorized by their general functionality, as explained below. However, don’t worry too much if you can’t craft them yet, as the Tamer Machine Gun is still the DPS meta.
- S-tier weapons are excellent in any situation and crafting them is a great long-term investment.
- A-tier guns are great but still fall short compared to S-tiers.
- B-tier weapons can be good but have vital shortcomings. They need to be paired with one specific Descendant, build, or combat situation.
- C-tier guns are lackluster and barely worth farming the material. Could be fun for some meme build but you might want to use something else.
Best Ultimate Weapons Explanations
Best to Worst General Rounds Weapons
- Divine Punishment: Support players would really love this Assault Rifle. Heal teammates? Get a Skill Cooldown buff. Buff teammates? Get a Defense buff. Debuff enemies? Get a Firearm Attack buff. Honestly, this weapon should’ve been called “Divine Blessing.”
- Thunder Cage: Your very first Ultimate Weapon. You should quickly learn that it pairs great with Bunny and will carry you far through most of the game’s main content.
- Enduring Legacy: A Machine Gun that debuffs enemies’ elemental resistance, and buffs your Fire damage? Call Blair because it’s time for a cookout. Even the reduced Effective Range shouldn’t pose a problem since Blair’s Burn Taste flamethrower is rather short too.
- Fallen Hope: Its Perdition ability will inflict constant Toxic AOE damage on groups of enemies. This Ultimate Weapon works for all Descendants but mostly for Freyna, as she comes with Toxic skills.
- Python: An SMG that buffs Toxic damage. Practically, you want to pair this one with Freyna and Fallen Hope and that’s it.
- The Final Masterpiece: A unique Pistol that gives you one random buff out of three with every reload. A bit RNG-ish but might as well have fun with its random elements considering how bad the materials’ drop rates are.
- Albion Cavalry Gun: If you like stunning enemies with Ajax, Gley, or Sharen, then you should use craft this one. The Cavalry ability increases Attack and can stunlock your target. But considering it’s hard to proc this status and doesn’t work on bosses, it is pretty useless.
Best to Worst Special Rounds Ultimate Weapons in The First Descendant
- Greg’s Reversed Fate: Looks visually appealing and is a great all-rounder since it will damage and Burn enemies that have a max shield. Quite a surprise considering Greg is your very first dungeon boss and he’s named, well, Greg. Of course, Blair players would also want to have a piece of this thanks to his Critical buff from Burned targets.
- King’s Guard Lance: Like lightning, this Beam Rifle can strike other enemies as you hit one. However, its setup eats ammo and the weapon has a small magazine. You might need Gley for her range buff and infinite ammo skill to use the Lance at its full potential.
- Secret Garden: This Tactical Rifle is really great for support Descendants with Dimension and Tech-type skills such as Ajax, Kyle, and Jayber. As its Gardener ability buffs Trigger Rate and Resource Recovery. But aside from them, its use is very limited.
- Clairvoyance: Basically, this gun will inflict Slow on enemies at Phase 3 charge beam. Pretty okay but its skill doesn’t stand out or anything.
- The Last Dagger: Gives Firearm Critical Hit and Attack with each Patience stack then deals a Stun after resetting the stacks. It’s an okay sidearm but nothing special.
Best to Worst High-Powered Rounds Guns
- Restored Relic: This Launcher will deal Ancient Fire damage on any enemy hit by its explosion. The Fire itself is calculated by its Firearm Attack stat. So yeah, pump up its Firearm Attack and this easily becomes the best all-rounder Launcher that you can get in the game.
- Smithereens: A Shotgun that has a plain ability but is extremely devastating. Hit all pellets on a target, and its Critical Hit Damage will skyrocket. Not to mention the magazine size buff too. Definitely the Ultimate Weapon of choice for any Descendant who loves close-quarter combat.
- Afterglow Sword: Looking for a Colossi killer? Then you cannot go wrong with this Sniper as it gives a huge buff against Commanders and Colossi bosses despite its low-ish fire rate.
- Executor: Hit all the pellets on a single target and you’ll gain Executor’s Exaltation effect that can be stacked 5 times. On the sixth shot, remove the stack and deal bonus Electric damage at any hit target. Works well with Bunny and Sharen considering their close-range nuke roles.
- Piercing Light: Guaranteed critical hit with every two-plus-enemies kill? What kind of a self-proclaimed sniper wouldn’t want this baby? But it comes with minus accuracy and stability, so every single shot has to count.
- Sigvore’s Proof: Its ability turns this Launcher into a timed-detonation grenade launcher. It’s fun to mess around with but delayed damage seems kind of counter-productive to DPS. Still, the Burn effect is nice.
Best to Worst Impact Rounds Ultimate Weapons Tier in The First Descendant
- Blue Beetle: Use Fusion skill and you’ll get Critical Hit Rate buffs. Meanwhile, Singular skill will heal you from debuffs. A good all-rounder Scout Rifle for most Descendants out there despite its Skill Cost +20% negative effect.
- Nazeistra’s Devotion: One of the more unique guns in the game as it’s basically a “support weapon.” Hit an enemy’s weak point then shoot your friend to heal their shield at the cost of your MP. It works great for support players that avoid enemies’ fires often.
- Wave of Light: An excellent Scout Rifle as its Solar Halo ability boosts its critical hit rate exponentially. Slot in reload speed buff Modules and you should be golden.
- Perforator: Deals a percentage damage against enemies’ shield, which once broken, gives Stun effect. It’s kind of fun since it works like the Plasma Pistol combo from Halo but it’s pretty lackluster. Can be paired with Albion for some stunlock shenanigans.
The First Descendant is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
