Bond. James Bond. Daniel Craig’s next and final film for the franchise is unofficially known as Bond 25. The twenty-fifth-anniversary movie of the franchise finally has a cast. This includes its main antagonist. After all, what is a 007 film without a fantastic villain? The contrast and somewhat competition between Agent 007 and his villain drive these movies.
Director Cary Joji Fukunaga met with Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli to officially announce a few details regarding the still unnamed upcoming Bond film during a live stream. This includes the news that Rami Malek will be taking the role of the main villain in the film. The recent Oscar winner assures fans of the franchise that he will not do any less than give 007 the most challenging movie yet.

With the writers and director changing, it did take the studio some time to nail down a prospective month for the release. Now jumping from February 2020 to April 2020. With the potential release date revealed, fans craved a title announcement as well. However, as all Bond films tradition, it will be dropped at the last minute possible.
Have no fear though the studio was kind enough to give some plot background. It seems that our top MI6 agent has retired, according to this plot synopsis and is enjoying his retirement in Jamaica:
“Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”
It’s incredible to see Daniel Craig back in this role and I can not wait to see how he honors the franchise in his last Bond movie.
Returning actors are Lea Seydoux as her Dr. Swann, Ben Whishaw as Q, Ray Fiennes as M, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter, and the gorgeous Moneypenny played by Naomie Harris. The team has been waiting and working in Jamaica and Italy to start pre-production, and with this cast, it’s well done indeed. Bond 25 celebrates the 007 franchise, and we know this will be the best one yet. The Legacy lives on.
