Borderlands 4 could take this little feature from Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel and turn it into a big one. But what are we talking about exactly? Keep reading to find out more.
Borderlands 4 Might Bring Some Old Features Back
Players often associate Borderlands with the prospect of defeating bosses and obtaining loot drops through hours of grinding, as the franchise is well-known for its exceptional looter-shooter gameplay. Nonetheless, some less prominent mechanics have remained largely unnoticed by many players.
In Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, the symbols of the Cult of the Vault were scattered throughout the maps. Despite being unpopular among players, Gearbox Software might reintroduce them in a bigger and more impressive form for Borderlands 4, although they were not included in Borderlands 3.
Finding all the Cult of the Vault symbols in previous Borderlands games rewarded players with Badass Ranks, which offered incremental benefits to the gameplay.
If the symbols were to return in Borderlands 4, they could offer more unique benefits. For example, they could provide access to legendary guns with special effects limited to them, such as Eridian-designed guns. This would align with Borderlands’ signature features and reward the player’s efforts more appropriately.
The game should make most of Cult of the Vault symbols out of all the previous features. Many fans might miss this return to form because discovering mysterious vault symbols all over the map is reminiscent of why Vault Hunters received their name in the first place.
This could also help unravel the long-standing mystery of who has been drawing these vault symbols and who or what the Cult of the Vault is. Additionally, it could be relevant to enigmatic characters such as the Seer, who Borderlands 3 revealed had been manipulating people to shape future events.
