Spider-Man 2 has several memorable missions that help you experience the fantastic story. There are also several fights that challenge you on every difficulty, making you want to play them again. You might have missed important lines, skipped ahead by accident, or got distracted by something else. Maybe you obtained a new upgrade that you think would be perfect for that mission and want to challenge yourself.

Whatever the reason, you want to replay a mission as many times as you want. In previous titles, you could replay missions and test your skills with better upgrades and suits. But not every sequel carries the same benefits, and you might be unable to replay missions. Does Spider-Man 2 allow you to replay missions, or is it a one-time deal for everything?

Unfortunately, the launch of Spider-Man 2 doesn’t give you the option to replay missions. After you finish a mission, your only option to replay it would be starting a new game or reloading from earlier. There’s no chance to try out a new suit or upgrade. You won’t be able to try another strategy or follow along with a guide. Once a mission is complete, it’s completed for that playthrough.

This is a change from earlier titles, where you could replay story missions again after completing them. After getting better skills or a nicer suit, you could go through the mission again with potentially better success. The feature may appear in a later patch, but there is no way to replay missions in Spider-Man 2.

Thankfully, there are several activities to keep you occupied, and there’s a longer story compared to previous titles. You will have many opportunities to practice your skills and try a new upgrade or a new strategy. If you really want to focus on certain upgrades and strategies for missions, you have to replay the game from the start.

There isn’t a New Game Plus to keep your upgrades either, and you will start from scratch every time. Fortunately, the Ultimate difficulty will be unlocked after you beat the main story. This allows you to put your skills to the test, letting you know if your strategies actually work. Beating Ultimate difficulty is just for bragging rights; even if your strategy pays off, it only gives you a sense of pride.

The option for replaying missions may come up again in the future, giving you the chance to start from the beginning. For now, go through Spider-Man 2 and enjoy the gameplay as it is. Once you get enough missions under your belt, you might be able to replay missions and put your skills to the test.
