Caught in the act

Like all animals, dogs can get very protective of their owners. While some are cool and collected, others are very reactive. Some dogs just have a sixth sense for dangerous people, it seems. One Colorado woman learned just how in tune her dog was when a man was allegedly following her prior to her video. And just before anything could happen, she and her dog stood up to their would-be assailant, who then took off.

Posted by TikTok user Busy_baking_biscuits (Sabrina), it shows the lady walking her dog, Bensen, when suddenly an elderly man dressed in all black steps out from behind a car. Bensen immediately focuses on him and starts barking, causing the man to take a few steps back. That’s when Sabrina speaks up, saying, “Yeah, come at us again. You were on the trail.”

POV: The man following you on the trails behind your home didn’t realize your “horse” was actually a Great Dane with HEFTY protective instincts🖤 This creep followed us at every turn, ignored my warning to leave us alone or i’d call police…he then climbed through the hole in the fence & hid behind a car waiting (which he thought he was slick but i saw his every move). Benson has NEVER barked at someone before this encounter! He’s a protective boy and I’m grateful for that! Let’s just say Benson made it very clear we were not the ones to mess with🤭 💅 Grateful for this gentle giant of an old man!!!!❤️‍🔥🤘🐾 #greatdane #scarydogprivilege #gentlegiant #bigdog #greatdanesoftiktok @Paris Paloma @Law and Order SVU @Law & Order @Mariska Hargitay

Sabrina then retorts that he shouldn’t ever “lunge” at a woman for any reason, and especially when she has a huge dog. He tries to defend himself, but Sabrina shuts him down, sharing that he has video of him. Upon hearing that, the man says, “I’m sorry” and tries to walk away.

According to Sabrina’s TikTok video, she had been walking a trail near her home. This man clad in black had been tailing her “at every turn” and even ignored her warning that she’d call the police. Instead, she says, he “climbed through the hole in the fence” and “hid” behind the car. “He thought he was slick, but I saw his every move,” Sabrina wrote.

People Offered Praise to Sabrina and Wished Infinite Pats For Her Dog

Hundreds of comments were left on Sabrina’s TikTok video either wishing her good fortune or praising her for standing up for herself or giving her dog love and attention. Many even went as far as to share their own protective pets.

One woman was astonished that Sabrina’s dog was so quick to notice someone being too aggressive. She said Sabrina was “his person” — a kindred spirit — despite being adopted so soon. Another commenter suggested because Sabrina rescued him, “he rescued you right back” and called Bensen the “goodest boy.”

Several TikTok users shared photos of their dogs, one of which was a tiny Chihuahua wearing a luchador costume and another being two German shepherds. Naturally, people had nothing but love for these superhero protectors.

Another commenter wrote, “That dog saved your life, I just know it. The best boy.” Others gave Sabrina props for handling the situation well. “Love the confidence and attitude in your voice! Not a single ounce of fear,” one TikTok user wrote. Dressed like that and following someone around definitely doesn’t sell friendly to anyone.
