Atten-hut! A revamped version of a real-time tactics masterpiece is coming to the Switch. Kalypso Media has recently announced that the HD remaster of Commandos 2 will be hitting virtual shelves on December 4 via the Nintendo eShop. They’ve also announced that there’s a 10% pre-order discount until launch. So, it’s best to get in early!
Commandos 2 – HD Remaster gives new and old soldiers the chance to experience the Commandos series in high-definition. The remaster features updated tutorials, revamped campaign missions, and optimized support for the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con and Pro Controller.
Originally developed by Pyro Studios, Commandos is a real-time tactics video game series that defined and influenced the genre. The developers consider Commandos 2 – HD Remaster as “a true homage to one of gaming’s most celebrated masterpieces.”
Commandos 2 – HD Remaster Features
The player is tasked with controlling a group of elite World War II commandos and utilizing their unique expertise to complete specific missions. As the game progresses, the missions become more demanding, forcing players to think of clever ways to use the commandos’ distinct abilities in tandem with each other.
*Remastered for Modern Gaming: Revamped tutorial and campaign modes along with controls and a UI that is optimized for modern gaming.
*World War II Authenticity: Big fan of WWII weapons and vehicles? Commandos 2 – HD Remaster gives you a range of scenarios where you can use authentic WWII vehicles and weapons such as tanks and bazookas.
*Live Environments: The missions will feature fully interactive environments. You will be able to steal, climb, and swim. Use your environment to your advantage to ensure your squad succeeds!
*Character Choice: You can choose from an “eclectic cast of characters” which includes Green Beret, Sniper, and even Whiskey the Dog. I mean, c’mon. Whiskey. The. Dog.
*Against the Odds: Everyone loves an underdog story. In Commandos 2 – HD Remaster, you can experiment with strategies and skills during against-the-odds missions.
