Queen’s Blood in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is one of the most addicting in-game card games I have ever played. It didn’t take too long for me to realize that I’m actually pretty good at it too. Or, at least good enough to have picked it up, swapped out my decks, and beat the champion of all Queen’s Blood players. It’s an interesting card game that has an even more interesting story behind it all.
Ultimate FF7 Rebirth Queen’s Blood Walkthrough
Queen’s Blood is easy to learn and hard to master. In my experience, you can only get better by playing more games and making different decks. For every person you beat, you earn another card, further expanding what you can be capable of. Individual cards and packs can also be purchased in shops and via the GP Exchange stores in Gold Saucer. Before long, you’ll see what works and what doesn’t in order to make your way to the top.

How To Play Queen’s Blood
In Queen’s Blood, the base rule is to get more points than your opponent. The board is divided into three rows and by placing down cards from your deck, each row will accrue points for both players. As long as you end the game with more points per row in two out of the three rows, then you win.
Queen’s Blood Rules
At the beginning of each game, each player will only be able to place cards on the first space of each row, as indicated by the pawns on each space. You will always be on the left side, which is green, meaning that your pawns are also green. You can only place cards down on the spaces that have pawns that match the number of pawns indicated on the top left of the card you wish to play. For example, if the card has two pawns on the top left, and none of the spaces on the board have two green pawns on it, then you won’t be able to place the card in this round.
Before the round begins, you are given a hand of five cards. You can pick which cards you’d like to keep, if any, before starting. Any cards you’d like to remove will be shuffled back into the deck and replaced with new cards. This can only be done one time,
When you place a card down, the card’s ability, if it has one, will activate. This could be eliminating enemy cards, buffing or crippling other cards, etc. Then, the number on the top right of the card will be added to the points area at the end of its corresponding row. The cards themselves also act as gateways to placing other cards down, increasing the number of pawns on a space so that you can place stronger cards and even blocking your opponent from being able to place cards in their own spaces. Once there are no more spaces on the board with a pawn of either color available, the game ends. The points for the winner of each row are then added up and whoever has the most points wins.
How To Edit Decks
You can edit your Queen’s Blood deck in two ways.
- Press the Option button on your controller and go into the Card Decks selection. You can press Triangle in this window to edit your deck or press R1 to go through your other decks.
- When you’re challenging someone, press the Triangle button before the actual battle to edit your deck.
Either way, you’ll be brought to your deck and your library of cards. You can only choose fifteen cards to be in your deck, which adds a whole level of difficulty to that aspect alone. You’re allowed to make up to six decks in total.

The Story of Queen’s Blood
Just before leaving Kalm, Cloud finds a bag containing Queen’s Blood cards hanging from the door of his inn room. He picks it up and embarks on a card game journey for the ages. After defeating several players, he eventually comes across Cameron from within The Crow’s Nest in Junon. After defeating him, both Cloud and Cameron witness the same vision about Lidrehl Balmon the inventor of Queen’s Blood.
The vision shows Lidhrel explaining that the game has a dark secret, but does not divulge much more information. After the vision ends, Cameron tells Cloud what the vision is about, explaining to him that he too saw it. Cloud, unsure exactly of what the vision means, continues to play the game with players in other regions.
The more he plays, the stronger his opponents become until finally, he comes across Wize 3.0 Ver. 2.0 in The Dustbowl. After defeating the robot, he accidentally divulges information about the game, furthering the idea that there is something sinister going on with the game. This information includes the death of Lidrehl and a card, Shadowblood Queen, going missing from among his possessions.
Wize malfunctions just as more information is going to be revealed, which forced Cloud to keep playing against more players to find out the rest. Eventually, he comes across the ghost of Lidrehl himself, who explains that the card, Shadowblood Queen, has the power to kill whoever is in possession of it. However, there is a card that can counter it, the Emerald Witch. After explaining that the two cards are the most powerful in all of the game, he challenges Cloud to a game of Queen’s Blood. After defeating him, his spirit returns to the other realm.
Cloud then gets directions to the player who is in possession of the Emerald Queen so that he may use it to fight against the wielder of the Shadowblood Queen card. For some reason, it seems as though the wielder of the Emerald Witch is none other than Vincent Valentine. After challenging him and winning the Emerald Witch, Cloud finds out where the wielder of the Shadowblood Queen lies in wait. When Cloud reaches the location, he finds out that Regina has been possessed by the Shadowblood Queen card and is its new wielder.
After defeating her, the Shadowblood Queen spirit continues to invade Regina, forcing her to grab Cloud. Vincent appears and uses his weapons to help Cloud out. He orders Cloud to use the two cards, the Emerald Witch and the Shadowblood Queen, against the possessed Regina. In doing so, it undoes the Shadowblood Queen’s possession, returning Regina to her own body. After the scuffle, Cloud gets the Shadowblood Queen card for himself.
