The August 2 update for CS:GO has arrived, and while it does not bring a long list of changes, the patch notes include gameplay improvements, additions and removals of maps, some detailed water-related enhancements, and adjustments to a few character animations. The most important, and only, gameplay change is the removal of the Wingman game mode. The mode allowed a team of two players to take on another two in a faster-paced game compared to the normal 5v5. The game mode was added very recently in the last update a few weeks ago and should be back in the game in the near future.
The map changes to CS:GO include the removal of Overpass and Vertigo and the addition of Anubis and Ancient to Deathmatch and Casual game modes. While both maps will be available to play casually, only Anubis will be playable in competitive mode. Other miscellaneous changes include audio improvements to the water in the game. Now, if a weapon is dropped in the water, it will splash as expected, and grenade sounds will also change when thrown in the water.
