The Quest Director for Cyberpunk 2077 took to Twitter recently to thank the community for giving the company a second chance after the release of Edgerunners and the announcement of Phantom Liberty. The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was a disaster, to say the least, and the developers, CD Projekt Red, were criticized for it. The game’s last-gen versions were entirely unplayable, while all other platforms were littered with bugs and glitches across the board. The state of the game was so bad that Sony decided to remove the game from the PSN entirely and waited 6 months before letting it show up again.
The company reassured fans and told them that they were working on fixing the game. Now, nearly two years after release, and after a long list of patches and fixes, CD Projekt Red’s work seems to finally be bearing fruit. At long last, the game is in the state it was originally intended to be launched in, and has seen a massive spike in sales, as well as player numbers.
Cyberpunk 2077 Getting A Second Chance
Benji Sales, an industry analyst, reported recently that Cyberpunk 2077 was the second highest-selling game on steam in September. Not only that, the action RPG had over 85 thousand concurrent players as well, the highest number of players since the game’s release. This sudden spike of interest is owed both to the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Netflix series, as well as the developer confirming that the game is now how it was originally intended, urging fans to give it another go.
CD Projekt Red clearly noticed this sudden interest relating to Cyberpunk 2077, and Quest Director Pawel Sasko thanked fans on Twitter for giving the team a second chance.
Thank you so much chooms for this second chance 😭 https://t.co/IONdDq8D9x

He also said that the fans were incredible, and thanked everyone for playing the game. He promised to do his best to make them proud.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available right now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia. The game also got a recent DLC expansion called Phantom Liberty, and confirmed that the last-gen versions of the game would no longer receive any more content after Edgerunners, including the upcoming expansion.
