Daycare’s Alleged ‘Child Fight Club’ Traumatized 4-Year-Old Boy, Texas Parents Claim in $1M Lawsuit

What an awful childhood experience

“What’s the first rule of daycare?” jokes an online commenter, referencing the iconic line from Fight Club, though it’s less of a joke than what happened at a daycare in Fort Worth, Texas. According to NBC 5 DFW, parents are suing Arka Montessori Academy of Risinger for $1M for allegedly holding a “child fight club” with their 4-year-old son.

Daycare turned into 'child fight club' by worker who forced little kids to brawl with each other, including her own son, while another staffer watched: Lawsuit

Footage shows two boys fighting, with a teacher seemingly encouraging them to brawl it out. Reportedly, this caregiver held down and threw the parent’s son “like a ragdoll,” urging the other child, who had attacked first, to continue fighting.

Despite another staff member eventually arriving, they did nothing to stop the children or pacify the situation. The 4-year-old son was left with bruises, scratches, and post-traumatic headaches that scarred him. This made him terrified of being left at other daycares.

Law&Crime has reached out to Arka Montessori for comment but reports the staff or owner has not commented. While whether the teacher actually encouraged the children to fight is alleged, the footage from the daycare doesn’t lie. A teacher was clearly being rough with the victim, while other staff failed to properly intervene.

The 4-Year-Old Reportedly Struggles to Attend Other Daycares

While the 4-year-old might heal physically from the fight, the mental recovery from the trauma has been challenging. His parents say he struggles to adapt to new daycare environments and often reenacts his defensive behavior from the fight at Arka Montessori.

His parents aren’t the only ones who feel their child is scarred for life from this incident. Online users also express sympathy for the 4-year-old, with one Redditor writing, “That is heartbreaking. I hope that kid is able to work this out and doesn’t suffer too much for the stupidity and evil actions of an adult.”

For now, the family’s lawsuit against the Arka Montessori daycare continues, while their unfortunate son still struggles to attend other daycares due to what the previous staff had put him through.
