Operation: Seraph’s Shield is one of the more unique missions in Destiny 2 for one key reason. Essentially, it’s the Exotic mission that gives you the Revision Zero Exotic weapon. This pulse rifle is a pretty interesting weapon, but obtaining it isn’t the easiest task. Operation: Seraph’s Shield has loads of new and confusing mechanics that you must understand to complete the quest and get the Exotic weapon. However, once you understand how they work, the mission is a lot easier. Let’s check it out.
How To Start Operation: Seraph’s Shield
Open up your Director, and head over to the Legends tab next to Crucible, Vanguard, and Gambit. Here, you can see the current Raids, Dungeon, and Exotic Mission in rotation. If Operation: Seraph’s Shield is currently in rotation, you can go ahead and start it from here.
Completing Operation: Seraph’s Shield in Destiny 2
When you first start the mission, you’ll find yourself surrounded by several large towers that shoot lasers at you. Each of these lasers will give you a Threat Detection debuff if you’re within sight of them, and once the timer reaches zero, you’ll be killed by them. It’s important to know that every time you stay out of sight of the lasers, you will gain time rather than lose it, and you can quickly run behind the next obstacle. Head into the large building, and you’ll be safe from the lasers.
Reach the Launch Pad Control Room
Once you make it inside the Seraph Facility Entrance, you’ll need to follow a couple of hallways, and then pass through your first trap. As you approach the doorway, you’ll probably notice the lasers blocking your path. The first set of lasers is low to the ground and you can jump over them. However, the second set of lasers is much higher up and leaves a small gap at the bottom. Here, you’ll need to crouch in order to pass.
Head through the next door that branches off to the left, then the following one. You’ll encounter some more lasers, but there will only be one set of them this time and you can crouch under them again. The next two doorways will only have a single laser very close to the ground, so just jump over them a couple more times, and you’re in the clear for a while.
Use the Scanner Protocol to Activate the Escape Pods
When you enter the next room, you’ll find a few enemies standing around some consoles and messing around with them. Notice that one of the enemies has a glowing yellow symbol over their head. This is the Scanner buff. Take out the enemies one by one and take the Scanner buff that falls from the one enemy.
The Scanner Augment reveals and highlights important objects that you must interact with in order to reveal the next objective. If you notice in the image above, there is a console highlighted to the left of the Scanner Augment. Interact with it to Hack it, as well as any other highlighted consoles you can see.
Board and Gain Access to Seraph Station
Once you’ve hacked all three of the consoles in the room, it’s time to move on. Four Escape Pods will drop on the platform where the enemies were when you entered the room. Make your way over to the Escape pods and interact with one to enter it. This will take you to the Engineering Sector of the Seraph Station.
Use the Scanner Protocol to Access the Engineering Sector
When you first arrive, you should notice a glowing yellow terminal. This is the Augmentation Terminal. Use it to drop your Scanner Augmentation in, and the next door will unlock. Head through the next doorway and take out the enemies in the next room. You’ll find another enemy with a Scanner Augment.
Take the Scanner buff and hack all the terminals in the area, then shoot out the vent cover on the wall and make your way through it. It will bring you into a room with the final terminal that must be hacked. Hack the terminal and head back. There will now be a few enemies to take out, as well as a newly-unlocked door. Inside the door, you’ll find a new terminal to hack, which will open yet another door into the Geosynchronous Orbit room.
Inside the Geosynchronous Orbit room, you’ll find a Sentinel blocking the path to another door with an Augmentation Terminal next to it. Head through to the next room and pick up another Scanner Augment buff as it drops from another enemy. There will be one more terminal to hack, then you can hop up over the door platform and head in through a vent.
In the next room, you’ll find another terminal to hack, as well as a laser trap protecting it. Every so often, the lasers will fade out and the next set will get stronger. Make your way through the trap, waiting patiently for each set of lasers to disappear, then hack the terminal.
On your way back out, you’ll see a terminal hidden behind a glass wall. Pay close attention to the location of the terminal, as it corresponds with a control panel that you’ll have to interact with in the next area. Use the Augmentation Terminal, then head into the next area.
Up on a platform, you’ll find four different panels. One of these will be in the same position as the terminal we needed to hack in the previous room. In our case, we needed to activate the control panel that is one from the far right. Now, head back and activate that terminal, then head in through the next door.
Beware of turrets, as the next room will be full of them. Using the platforms, climb up until you can access the next door. Grab another Scanner Augmentation and take out the enemies. You’ll find a couple of Shanks and Resilient Captains. The next room will require you to pass a puzzle in the Microwave Room.
Microwave Room Puzzle
When you look down through the window, you will be able to see the correct path to make it through the room without getting hurt. However, you won’t be able to go back and check after you’ve entered the room, so either take a picture of the path, or have a friend with you to guide you through the puzzle. You will also be able to see which consoles need to be hacked in order to deactivate the puzzle and let you through the door on the other side.
Use the Operator’s Protocol to Access the Officer’s Lounge
As you head into the next room, you’ll need to pick up a new kind of buff called the Operator Augment. This buff will allow you to shoot panels hidden on the walls in order to activate them.
Activate all of the control panels in order to progress through each room until you finally make it to the Officer’s Lounge. However, to pass through the door, you must deposit your Augmentation into the Augmentation Terminal.
Get Captured
Before you can get captured, you need to defeat the first of three boss encounters within the Operation: Seraph’s Shield mission. Haroktha, Scourge of the Helium Drinkers will appear. His health can be taken down relatively quickly, but every time his shields go up, you’ll need to defeat a massive Warbringer Brig. Once the Brig is down, you can deal more damage to the boss until he has been defeated.
Once you finish the fight, head down through the door behind the arena. “Surrender” your weapons to be captured, then head back to Geosynchronous Orbit and make your way though the hallway. On your way, there will be a panel that allow you to gain access to the ship. Interact with this panel while the BrayTech Security Frames keep you safe.
Head outside, and make your way through the jumping puzzle to get back to escape the Ketch.
Reach the Warsat Command Nexus
To reach the Warsat Command Nexus, you’ll need to use the Scanner and Operator buffs. Once you make it into the Logistics Sector, you’ll need to take down Haroktha, Scourge of the Helium Drinkers again. Once he’s down, head into the next room, where you can find a couple of enemies carrying buffs. Take down the Operator Splicer and head back out to shoot some control panels, then head down into the Maintenance Substructure. This area will take you into another jumping puzzle. Once you hit the center portion of the puzzle, head off to the right rather than continuing straight to make it to the final boss area.
Just before you enter the Warsat Control Nexus, you can Rally to the Flag, and then head inside to fight the final boss. Once he’s defeated, you’ll receive the Revision Zero exotic weapon, and complete the Operation: Seraph’s Shield Exotic mission.
