Weapon crafting has been one of the largest parts of Destiny 2, but what will Season 22 bring as far as weapon crafting changes? Quite a bit, as with every new season, there are bound to be changes to different aspects of the game. Bungie will make some decent changes to how weapon crafting works this next season. The dev team has focused on Destiny 2 weapon progression and how we earn it, so things might be out of the range of what we’re used to as the new season begins. Let’s look at the Destiny 2 Season 22 weapon crafting changes.

Weapon Progression Earning in Destiny 2: Season 22

Luckily for us, weapon progression earning for crafting weapons in Destiny 2: Season 22 will be easier than in previous seasons. Though, rather than changing the way we gain progression on our red-border weapons, they’re giving us opportunities to earn more progress through activities that require some extra effort on our end.

For instance, since it is more difficult to obtain kills in PvP game modes, we will now earn more progression toward our red borders for each PvP kill we get than we would for any normal PvE kills we obtain. The following activities will give us extra weapon progression in Destiny 2: Season 22 per kill, in addition to overall increased efficacy when it comes to weapon leveling:

  • Crucible
  • Trials of Osiris
  • Dares of Eternity
  • Wellspring
  • Gambit
  • Platinum score completions of Legend and Master Solo Lost Sectors

Additionally, rather than losing all extra progress at the end of a level, the additional progress can roll over to the next level now. Even more exciting changes to Destiny 2: Season 22 weapon crafting — We can increase our weapon levels by spending in-game currency! Each red-border weapon we have crafted will not have an additional mod slot that can be ranked up using Glimmer and Enhancement Cores to increase the weapon’s level.

This feature also won’t touch the already earned progress toward the next level by directly increasing the weapon’s level. Though, as with all other forms of leveling, the farther you wish to level, the more the resource cost will be.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
