Completing the Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion main story quests will reward you with the No Time To Explain Exotic Pulse Rifle, and to unlock its Catalyst, you need to complete a quest called “Soon” from the Exo Stranger. With the catalyst, the time portal will shoot projectiles more frequently. Obviously, you would want to complete this Quest to get the Perk and buff up your gun.

“Soon” Quest Guide for Destiny 2

Destiny 2: Soon Quest Guide

The Destiny 2 “Soon” Quest is a two-step questline that will allow you to unlock the Catalyst for No Time To Explain Pulse Rifle. It’s pretty straightforward, although slightly not hand-hold-y; here’s how to complete it:

1. Collect 5 Schematic Code Fragments

The Exo Stranger will ask you to collect five Schematic Code Fragments. There’s no indicator on the map, but you can find them in the BrayTech Exoscience, west of Cadmus Ridge. Just defeat everyone you find there until they drop five Fragments. Go back to the Stranger once done.

2. Defeat 60 Vex on Europa

Afterward, she will task you to kill 60 Vex using the No Time To Explain Pulse Rifle in these areas on Europa:

  • Nexus.
  • Well of Infinitude.
  • And the Glassway.

It’s a bit of a slog, but most recommend going to the Nexus and Well of Infinitude. To get to the Nexus, head to the Asterion Abyss and keep right until you find a cave where you get to test the Stasis abilities for the first time. To reach the Well of Infinitude, go east from Asterion Abyss. It’s better to go there while running a Patrol.

Running The Glassway Strike isn’t a good way to farm Vexes because they only show up at the boss’ room. Head back to the Exo Stranger, and she’ll finally hand you your hard-earned Catalyst.

Getting the ‘No Time to Explain’ Exotic Catalyst

Catalyst Perk: Blast from the Side
Projectiles from the time portal shoot more frequently.

After you’re done with the “Soon” Quest, it’s time to charge the No Time to Explain Exotic Catalyst. “Simply” get 700 kills with the Pulse Rifle for the Catalyst. It will take some time, but you might want to take a look at the Shattered Throne Dreaming City Dungeon; after the First Encounter, you should find a room with infinitely respawning Shadow Thralls. It should just take about 15 minutes to get that 700 kills.
