The Crystal Mystery in Disney Dreamlight Valley becomes available after you’ve reached a higher friendship level with Merlin and unlocked the Forest of Valor. It involves quite a bit of research and crafting, but for the most part, it’s fairly straightforward. You have to explore the Forest of Valor, use your tools well, and craft. The main objective of the quest is figuring out what to do with the Mysterious Shard!
How To Complete the Crystal Mystery in Dreamlight Valley
To begin the quest, you must track down the constantly wandering wizard, Merlin. He will then ask you to come check out the Forest of Valor with him and participate in some exploration.
Once you’re in the Disney Dreamlight Valley Forest of Valor, Merlin will set you on the task of tracking down a Mysterious Shard that resembles a Night Shard. If you wander over to the pillar in the Forest of Valor, you will be able to find this Mysterious Shard near some trees off to the right of the pillar.
Now, keep in mind that the Mysterious Shard won’t just jump out at you. It’s very dark in color and is placed in the grass where it is somewhat difficult to see, so keep your eyes peeled for it!
Once you locate the Mysterious Shard in Disney Dreamlight Valley and pick it up, hand it straight to Merlin. After you do this, Merlin will have to talk with you for a while, and soon enough, he will ask you to go and collect 5 Night Shards. You probably already have these in your inventory, but they’re easy to find if you don’t. Don’t worry; you can find them by digging up glittering mounds in the grass with your shovel.
Give the 5 Night Shards to Merlin. He will hand you back the Disney Dreamlight Valley Night Shards and Mysterious Shard to take to a crafting station, where you will have to combine one of each to make a Purified Night Shard. Once you’ve finished this, go and speak with Merlin again.
Merlin will tell you to keep the Purified Night Shard and gift it to a friend in Dreamlight Valley. You’ll have to actually go find somebody to give the shard to in order to complete the quest. It might even be your friend’s favorite thing!
