Former president Donald Trump appeared slimmer than we remember at Easter weekend’s Mar-a-Lago event. Due to his apparently drastic physical transformation, social media has accused Trump of taking Ozempic, a common weight loss drug in the U.S.
In an image posted to Donald Trump Jr.’s Instagram, Trump, 77, appeared noticeably slimmer posing beside grandson Spencer, 11, and granddaughter Chloe, 9. The young children were both holding balloon animals crafted with a likeness to their famous grandfather.
Trump’s Magical Weight Loss
Naturally, the comment section flooded with praise for the 45th president, who appears the likely candidate to represent the Republican party again in this year’s election.
“The President looks like he’s lost some weight? He looks great! Happy Easter,” one wrote.
Another said: “Trump looking lean and mean!”
After the whole Mother’s Day debacle with Kate Middleton, image manipulation has become more popular among public figureheads, so it wouldn’t be all that surprising if Trump had insisted on a little Photoshop to drop some pounds for the camera.
And it wouldn’t be a first for Trump to deceive followers about his weight. When he was arrested, Trump claimed he was 6’ 3’’ and 215 pounds, which would suggest he has the same stature as many NFL quarterbacks.
While a lot of observations point to Ozempic, other analyses have reminded us that, in recent years, there has been a lot of speculation concerning Joe Biden and Donald Trump. In particular, the general consensus is that both of them suffer from dementia. As some X users pointed out on a re-upload of Donald Trump Jr.’s post, a common symptom of advanced dementia is rapid weight loss.
But all of this is subjective. Weight loss can be attributed to a number of factors, so it isn’t necessarily Ozempic or dementia. But given how the transformation seemed to have happened overnight, it would be preposterous to rule out either.
