FromSoftware, the developer behind Dark Souls and Bloodborne, have announced their newest title: Sekiro – Shadows Die Twice at Microsoft’s E3 press conference today.

This brand new project appears to share the same frenzied yet skillful gameplay that we’ve come to know and love/hate from FromSoftware. Sekiro is the story of a ninja as he traverses 15th-century feudal Japan. Our main character appears to have a prosthetic arm that doubles as a super useful grappling hook. Tenchu, another series made by FromSoftware, also focuses on ninjas, but Sekiro – Shadows Die Twice is a brand new story and project.

Being published by Activision, Sekiro was teased last year, and the popular speculation was that it was a sequel to the Victorian Bloodborne. However, the bloody, gory close-up, which made up a majority of the teaser trailer, was actually our main character’s prosthetic arm. The teaser trailer ended with the phrase, “Shadows Die Twice.”

No release date has been announced.

Are you looking forward to the new project? Let us know in the comments below, and make sure to keep an eye on The Nerd Stash for all of your nerdy news, needs, and E3 coverage! Bethesda’s conference is later this evening at 9 PM EST, but Microsoft still has plenty up its sleeve!
