A trope that has been present since the start of the Souls series, gestures are emotes that you can find in these games through exploration or interacting with NPC, and they make their return in FromSoftware’s newly released game. Elden Ring. The previous games would have these gestures put into their own menu, but Elden Ring makes a change that puts them more front and center, but the change might cause players to miss these gestures if they aren’t looking in the right place. This guide will explain how to use gestures in Elden Ring.

How To Use Gestures In Elden Ring

As I said, Gestures used to be found in their own menu, usually brought up by hitting the back button on your controller. Elden Ring has given that space to a little new feature called a map, but that doesn’t mean that the gestures are gone. Now you are going to find them in the menu along with your equipment, inventory, settings, etc. Press your Options/Esc button to bring up your menu, and you will find your Gestures in the bottom right of the screen. Go over to the gesture you want to use and simply select it to use the gesture. If your system also supports motion controls, you can also hold down the interact button and do the motion labeled on the gesture to do it without selecting it.

Gestures can be changed by going over to your set of gestures and selecting the one that you want to replace. This will bring you to the full list of all the gestures you have unlocked, allowing you to test these gestures and put them into the lineup of emotes you want to use.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
