Hell hath no fury like an angel scorned! Developer Matrioshka Games and V Publishing have announced a release date for their biblical hack-n-slash Fallen Angel, and it will unleash Hell on Steam this October (just in time for spooky season!).

Fallen Angel is a modern take on John Milton’s classic Paradise Lost:

One plays as Lucifer, the angel that fell from Heaven and now seeks vengeance on God and his army. Lucifer soon discovers that God has departed Heaven, and the archangels are fighting for control of His kingdom. While the archangels are fighting each other, Lucifer takes to the clouds to wipe out the Heavenly army and take the Mantle of God for himself.

Lucifer is equipped with guns, blades and other weapons that allow the player to make the game their own. “Players can use their preferred fighting styles to take on enemies whether that be head-to-head brute combat, maneuvering with precision and counter-attacks, or relying on ranged weapons to attack from afar.”

Finding its start on Kickstarter, Fallen Angel, unfortunately, had an unsuccessful campaign, falling just a few thousand dollars short of their $20,000 goal. However they continued to work on their game, “The game is currently hosting a closed beta with nearly 1,000 players and has made significant upgrades to its graphics and gameplay, making for one hell of a game.”

Fallen Angel is set to release on October 22, 2020, and will be available on Steam. But to stay up-to-date on all the hellish happenings, check out their Discord server!
