FAR: Changing Tides was revealed today at the PC Gaming Show. FAR: Changing Tides is the follow-up to FAR: Lone Sails from Swiss video game development company Okomotive, which was released in May of 2018.
Also announced is the new partnership between Frontier Foundry and Okomotive. Frontier Foundry being the gaming section of Frontier Developments. This new partnership has this gaming franchise on a set course to success as they both try and mimic the success of FAR: Lone Sails.
Changing Tides Ahead
In this new sequel you play as:
Toe, a hero trapped in a drowned landscape with little chance of survival. Finding an abandoned ship, the journey to safety will take players across the horizon in a desperate bid for freedom as Toe seeks answers about what happened to their home.”
And instead of traversing sand, this time you will be traversing the sea as you try and find out what happened to Toe’s home. It also looks like you’ll still be having to keep up with repairs on your junky ship, as you wander the seas in search of the truth.
Don Schmocker, who is the lead designer of FAR: Changing Tides, said the following:
The reception to FAR: Lone Sails was humbling, to know that people felt the same passion as we do about that world inspired us to continue to build on it with Changing Tides. We knew we wanted to tell a different, but complementary tale, one which would be familiar to fans but fresh and exciting.”
Your chance to help Toe find out what happened to his home will begin in late 2021 when Okomotive’s FAR: Changing Tides launches on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, Steam, and Epic Store.
