Is she right?

A Georgia woman posted a TikTok video blasting racism as a double standard, claiming it can go both ways, regardless of race. She comments that others may not like her opinion, but she believes calling out disrespect isn’t controversial. The woman is from Atlanta, Georgia, and is commenting on a TikTok she watched where a white girl shared about being mistreated at her school. The things the girl was told, the woman felt was “hardcore racism.” The video has spread rapidly, with over 660,000 views, 158,000 likes, and 3,000 comments.

The video begins with the Georgia woman claiming, “Racism isn’t just white people being racist to black people.” She believes that racism can go both ways. She continues, stating that she feels people tend to “flush out the idea that black people can’t be racist.” To her, racism in general is horrible, no matter who it is towards, and that “[it’s] not one-sided.”

Racism doesn’t get a pass depending on who says it. If we actually want equality, the standard has to be the same across the board. Acknowledging history matters but so does how we treat each other today. Calling out disrespect shouldn’t be controversial. #racism #equality #macyanne #respecteveryone #realtalk

In the video, she references the “horrible [treatment] to black people” in the past. However, she claims that today she feels “the majority of it is gone or slowly disappearing.” This is why she believes, “It’s like low-key blacks have gotten to a part where they can just do it back to white people.” Despite thinking that others aren’t going to like her for this opinion, she felt the need to speak out because she allegedly sees racism toward white people a lot. The example she gives is the treatment she has witnessed involving her friends. She feels “racism needs to end in general.”

Many Applaud Georgia Woman’s Opinion

The Georgia woman’s words have many cheering in the comments for saying what they feel they can’t. One says, “I’ve been saying this and got hated on.” Some agree but are too afraid to share the video: “Yes, exactly, but I’m so scared to repost it.” Another agrees, “nervous to repost but just KNOW I was here, and I agree.”

Many are applauding her, encouraging her to “SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK.” Another agrees, “Racism can happen to anyone, and it’s so horrible that it’s so normalized today to any race.” Several agree with her statements that racism is bad in general. One says, “No one should ever be racist to anyone. We are human, and we should be happy and proud for every culture!”

The Georgia woman continues to speak her mind on TikTok.
