Helldivers 2 has recently tasked players with one of its most difficult Personal Orders yet, kill Bile Titans. They certainly live up to their name. The Bile Titan is the toughest enemy among the Terminids. It would take a good chunk of your immediate arsenal to dispatch them. If you want to be prepared for when this Personal Order rotates once more, here’s a guide on Bile Titans of Helldivers 2.
Where to Find Bile Titans
The game doesn’t tell you this, but Bile Titans will only appear in the Challenging difficulty level and above in Terminid territories. But even at that stage, their appearances can be quite rare.
If you want a more certain hunt for Bile Titans, you might have to play in Extreme difficulty or above. There, Bile Titans will typically appear at least twice in the mission, even if it’s just a 12-minute run.
This can maximize your chances of running into a Bile Titan. Additionally, if you don’t want to miss Bile Titans in Helldivers 2, you might want to run the Erdicate Terminid Swarm missions. Those would be the 15-minute stationary defense missions. A Bile Titan will spawn at least once during such missions.
Hunting a Bile Titan in Helldivers 2
The first instinct you have upon seeing a Bile Titan would be to run, and that’s a good plan. You’ll want to put some distance between this behemoth and yourself either because it can kill you in one hit or because you’ll call all bombardment Stratagems you have on its position.
It’s the most durable and most dangerous Terminid type there is and we don’t recommend tackling the Bile Titan alone. In any case, here are some useful tips to keep in mind once you’ve put some considerable distance between yourself and the Bile Titan:
- Light Armor with the enemy detection reduction stat is helpful so the Bile Titan won’t target you with its ranged attack.
- Orbital Laser works decently well against it.
- Orbital Precision Strike works better, but it can be a hit or miss (pun intended).
- Eagle Airstrike also works well, but it’s even less accurate than Orbital Precision Strike. Still, it has its uses, especially against multiple Bile Titals.
- An Eagle 500kg Bomb is recommended over an Eagle Airstrike.
- Use either the SPEAR Launcher or the Recoilless Rifle against Bile Titans.
- The EAT-17 Expendable Anti-tank also works decently, but you’re in trouble if you miss.
- The Patriot Exosuit or mech has ample fighting chance against the Bile Titan, but you’ll want to use it with caution as the Bile Titan can kill it with one hit.
- Aim for its head.
- Destroying its green body parts will disable the Bile Titan’s ranged attacks.
- Don’t both with bullets, Grenade Launchers, grenades, or light armor penetration.
- If you have no bombardments or heavy explosives, you can try to shoot the Bile Titan’s head and underside, but it will take way too long to take it down that way. Use it as a last resort.
Above all, keep reinforcing your fallen squadmates. You don’t want to fight a Bile Titan solo; share the suffering and the failure, that’s the democratic way to do it.
