Completing the “Regional Phenomena” in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is necessary to finish the game’s main quests. This quest will take Link to four main regions of Hyrule and help out her people. At the end of each quest line, Link will also have to clear out the four Temple challenges: Wind, Fire, Water, and Lightning Temple. Read below if you need help completing the “Regional Phenomena” Quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Complete Regional Phenomena Quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
1. Hebra, Rito Village: “Tulin of Rito Village” Quest
Most players and guides will suggest you head to the Rito Village and clear the “Tulin of Rito Village” Quest first. It’s not surprising, considering the game is kind of pushing you toward that direction anyway. Purah and other NPCs in Lookout Landing will suggest Link go there, and there are important points of interest along the way. The Archaic Warm Greaves you found in the Great Sky Island tutorial will also be extremely useful there. The gear will give Link one level of Cold Resistance, and you can find the Snowquill set over at the Rito Village for 2,150 Rupees.
Now, you will want to go northwest towards Rito Village in Hebra. But first, you will want to head northeast to activate the Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower at -1910, 1245, 0291 coordinates. From there, you can glide over the canyon and easily land on Hebra. Then go to the top of Rito Village, precisely at -3600, 1800, 0212 coordinates to trigger the “Tulin of Rito Village” Quest‘s cutscene.
Afterward, all you need to do is follow the quest line to reach The Wind Temple. Clearing the Wind Temple will reward you with one Heart Container, and Tulin will become a Sage. Summoning Tulin now grants you additional mobility while airborne. Read our Wind Temple Dungeon Location & How to Beat guide for more details in this section.
2. Akkala, Goron City: “Yunobo of Goron City” Regional Phenomena Quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Again, some NPC will suggest Link help out the Gorons after dealing with the Ritos’s problem. The opposite of Rito Village, Goron City is located near Death Mountain in the northeast. This place requires you to have Heat Resistant armor or Meals. Thankfully, at least you will be able to buy the Flamebreaker Armor set in the city, making your trip out easier than getting in. Unfortunately, the full set will cost you 3,400 Rupees.
Go towards the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower at 1642, 1190, 0220 coordinates. The door’s locked, but you can get inside from the broken roof. Look to the east, climb on the falling rocks, and use Recast to reach the roof. Glide north and keep following the quest marker to reach Goron City at 1660, 2440, 0342. Speak with the turtle-looking guy at the town square to trigger the “Yunobo of Goron City” Quest.
You will eventually end up at The Fire Temple. You’ll have to brave the Depths, so look up our How To Complete the Fire Temple guide to prepare yourself. After the Temple is bested, you gain one more Heart Container and unlock Yunobo’s charged attack. This powerful move can be used to break walls.
3. Lanayru, Zora’s Domain: “Sidon of the Zora” Quest
Getting to Zora’s Domain is much more straightforward than the other locations. Head towards Upland Zorana Skyview Tower at 2866, 0581, 0373 coordinates. The Tower door is blocked by sludges, which is the Regional Phenomena that’s plaguing the Domain in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Clean it by throwing Splash Fruits that can be found around the area.
From the Tower, fly towards Zora’s Domain at 3331, 0545, 0138 coordinates. There, speak with the Zora to start the “Sludge-Covered Statue” Quest. All you have to do is throw a Splash Fruit at the statue then the “Sidon of the Zora” Quest should be triggered. Following the quest line will take you to The Water Temple. Consult our How To Complete the Water Temple guide to clear the area easily. Once done, you should get another Heart Container, and summoning Sidon lets you use a water shield that can be used for defense and offense. You should also recover the Zora Armor, which can scale waterfalls easily.
4. Gerudo, Gerudo Town: “Riju of the Gerudo Town” Quest
The last one considered the toughest to beat in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the Gerudo Town Regional Phenomena. Covered in an eternal sandstorm, navigating and reaching the location is no morning walk since your map will get scrambled. Not to mention that you also need both Heat Resistant items during the day and Cold Resistant items during the night. With that in mind, you’ll need to prepare properly for this trip.
First, head to Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower at -3960, -1305, 0415. From there, Paraglide downhill to the Mayatat Shrine at an oasis, then jump into the whirlwind nearby. This should let you Paraglide quickly to Gerudo Town’s Soryotanog Shrine on a hill at -3880, -2962, 0138 coordinates. Again, remember that once you’re nearing the town, the sandstorm will mess up your vision and map. Utilize the whirlwinds to get better visibility in the air.
Once you reach Gerudo Town, go to the courtyard and look for a well on the left side of the area. Jump inside, swim up the river, and use Ascend. This should send you into the palace and trigger the “Riju of the Gerudo Town” Quest. Follow our How To Complete the Lightning Temple guide to clear out the Temple. You will obtain the last Heart Container bonus and Riju’s lightning bolt follow-up attack when you fire an Arrow.
After you’ve completed all four main quests, go back to Purah at Lookout Landing. Speak with her to complete the “Regional Phenomena” quest line in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
