Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2’s Week 9 challenges are anything but easy, such as the task of having to fall 5 stories without taking damage. Not only does dropping from high areas lead to a likely elimination, but the game also does not tell players if they are high enough until after they have made their leap of faith. Luckily, there are a few locations that can help knock out this challenge in just seconds. This guide will showcase how you can fall 5 stories or more without taking damage in Fortnite and what you will earn in return.
How To Fall 5 Stories in Fortnite
There are one of two ways Fortnite players can complete the challenge of falling 5 stories without taking damage. As shown below, the first is to drop at either The Citadel’s Castle or Mega City. If you decide to land at The Citadel, you can complete the challenge simply by running and jumping off of a roof and landing in the lake below. However, we strongly recommend jumping from the watchtower at the back end of the castle, as the northern point of the location is entirely surrounded by water.
Meanwhile, those at Mega City will need to leap from a skyscraper at Mega City and onto one of the many Grind Rails below. Although, it is important that you align your fall with the rail before jumping. Even if you are not perfectly aligned, you can also move your character closer to the object. If successful, you will avoid any fall damage and instantly begin gliding on the rail.

You can also fall 5 stories without taking damage by gathering one of three items. These items are the limited-time Lightsaber Mythic, the ODM Gear, and the Kinetic Blade. If you are wielding the Lightsaber, you can withstand all fall damage by using its Force Jump power. Meanwhile, the ODM Gear lets you grapple to any area and drop to a flat surface in full health. The Kinetic Blade’s Dash Attack also allows you to avoid fall damage, but be sure to start the move on a tall structure before activating it.
Once the quest is completed, you will be rewarded with an additional 15,000 XP toward your Battle Pass level. Keep in mind, this Week 9 challenge will no longer be available once Chapter 4 Season 2 ends. So, you should progress through the Battle Pass by doing all remaining challenges while you still can.
Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.
