Diablo 4 is currently running its beta test period ahead of its June 6 launch. However, some players might be unable to log in and encounter the 34202 error code instead. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about and how to fix Error Code 34202 in Diablo 4.
What is Error 34202?
Although on the official known issues list for Diablo 4 Beta on PC and consoles on the Battle.net forum, there is no mention of error code 34202, this issue will occur when the game’s server is unavailable. This can happen for several (mostly reasonable) reasons, including server maintenance, server downtime, or server overload.
Diablo 4 – How to Fix Error Code 34202
As mentioned above, Error 34202 happens from the server side. There is practically nothing that the client (aka us, as players) can do to fix it. Nevertheless, it’s always a good habit to check up on some things on your end first when it comes to a server or connection problem.
First, you will obviously want to check the availability of the Diablo 4 servers and whether they are working or down. The best place to check the server is by keeping an eye on the game’s and Blizzard’s official Twitter accounts for any latest information:
- Twitter.com/Diablo
- Twitter.com/BlizzardCS (Blizzard Americas Customer Support)
- Twitter.com/BlizzardCS_EN (Blizzard Europe Customer Support)
- Or through third-party sites:
Afterward, you might want to check Diablo 4‘s Open Beta period and the game’s launch date. Outside of these dates, the servers are probably cannot be accessed (aside from maintenance and the like):
- Early Access Beta:
- Starts: March 17, 2023 – 9 AM PST
- Ends: March 20, 2023 – 12 PM PST
- Open Beta: 24 to 27 March 2023
- Starts: March 24, 2023 – 9 AM PST
- Ends: March 27, 2023 – 12 PM PST
- Launch Early Access:
- June 2, 2023
- Official Launch:
- June 6, 2023
If the servers are operational, there is a chance that you are having a connection problem, making your device unable to connect to Diablo 4‘s server and causing Error Code 34202. We advise following the official instructions for fixing connection/disconnection problems from Battle.net.
- Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.
- Reset your network devices, which can resolve numerous problems
- Optimize your internet connection to rule out a connection issue if you’re using a wireless connection.
- Update or temporarily uninstall any security programs, which may mistakenly identify the login module as a security threat.
- Release and renew your IP and flush your DNSÂ to resolve any network conflicts.
- Disable any proxies that may interfere with the login module.
- Update your drivers and operating system to resolve any compatibility issues.
We also have guides on other error codes, such as Error 316719 and Error 34203, don’t forget to check them out, too, if you’re having other problems!
