Koumei is the 58th Warframe and she has one of the most interesting skillsets in the game and a refreshingly new playstyle. Koumei is also a Warframe based on gambling and RNG but surprisingly, she’s easier to obtain than most other Warframes (especially the older ones). Here are some quick tips and directions to help you obtain Koumei in Warframe as easily and as fast as possible without spending Platinum or real money.
Where to Get Koumei & Requirements
Before you can even hope to get Koumei in Warframe, you need to hit the following requirements because her mission and farming area are locked behind a certain location.
- Unlock Earth and the Cetus node.
- Unlock the Saya’s Vision conversation with Saya in Cetus.
This might require finishing the Cetus introductory mission which takes around 30 minutes or so if you’re a new player. After that, you can talk to Saya (Saya’s Vision) to initiate the short quest and unlock the farming area for Koumei.
Farming Koumei the Wise Way
The new game mode in which you can farm Koumei would be none other than Shrine Defense on Earth (right next to the Cetus node).
Here’s how to play Shrine Defense
- Pick up the first offering and bring it to the shrine.
- Make sure there are no enemies in the two offering areas, otherwise, the offering countdown will halt.
- Bring offerings to the shrine until the area boss appears.
- Bring the area boss’s HP down to half.
- Bring the last two shrine offerings to the shrine to remove the area boss’s invulnerability.
- Slay the area boss.
You don’t exactly have to defend anything in the Shrine Defense mission, but there are a couple of specific spots that need to be clear of enemies so they won’t impede the mission timer. More players will speed up the mission, of course.
After completing a Shrine Defense, you’ll be rewarded with the following specific resources for purchasing and farming Koumei from Saya (Cetus).
- 14-18 Fate Pearls
- 20-24 Fate Pearls on Steel Path
- Koumei blueprint (low chance)
I recommend holding on to your Fate Pearls until they reach 330 and before purchasing any Koumei blueprint. This is the most optimal way to farm Koumei in Warframe.
To purchase all of Koumei’s parts, you need a total of 330 Fate Pearls unless you get lucky and a Koumei blueprint drops as a reward in Shrine Defense. Once you have 330 Fate Pearls, go back to Saya on Cetus, Earth to buy Koumei’s blueprints through the “Offer Fate Pearls” dialog option.
Additionally, you will need an additional 102 Fate Pearls to craft Koumei once you have the blueprints. So all in all, you might want to farm 432 Fate Pearls for Koumei. Don’t forget that you also need to wait 1.5 days for the Foundry to finish crafting Koumei.
